Totally OT- Pet insurance

Just bought a cavilier KC spaniel pup (makes me go for walks so all good) and trying to get him insured but im totally clueless as to what type of cover i need. He's 7 months old. The price in certain covers varies dramactically and im unsure what type to get, cheap and cheerful or one at about £15 a month.

Has anyone any recommendations or any idea what type of cover i should be getting, ie one that covers on going illness (just in case) or one that only covers certain illnesses for 12 months etc.

Thanks

Hi Love, its best to go for a good one and I went with "more than" for pet insurance. They do two levels and its best to go for the higher level as you can rest assured your pretty much covered xx Hope this help hun xx

Make sure you read the policy exclusions carefully. Some ongoing illnesses they will only cover for the first year. Diabetes injections being one example.

We insured our cats all their lives, but when they got to age 10 they increased the premium by 100%!

Good luck finding the right cover

Do More than pay out pretty much straight away and you don't have to pay first do you then get reinbursed?

Do they cover everything? eg any little illness they may get or any treatment they need? I'm unsure as to whether or not to insure my dog too!

I have full cover on our dog at Tesco pet Insurance, when we were checking for insurance when we got her last year Tesco was very reasonable, and we have had no problems with them as yet.

Everyone will tell you that the insurance company that they are with is really good....but untill they have had to make claims then they really dont know for sure.

I have all mine with healthy pets they cover for life and ive had no problems with on going treatments and paying out ASAP thats my experience with them.
The last company I was with was Tesco, they were great......untill they didnt pay out the full amount!

Good luck finding the right one for you and your dog :)
