Insomnia?

killercurls

I *will* be skinny again!
Hi guys!

I was wondering if anyone is suffering from insomnia on this diet? Or is it just me?

I feel tired when I'm at work (nothing new there....it's boring) but when I get home and try to go to sleep I just toss and turn! I don't know if this a side effect of this diet or not.....any ideas?? :4635:

"I'm having trouble trying to sleep
I'm counting sheep but running out
As time ticks by
And still I try
No rest for crosstops in my mind

On my own....here we go..."

(this song is always stuck in my head when i can't sleep!!)

Insomnia

HI Killercurls.. yeah i have insomnia as well. I found water helps, but then im in the bathroom constantly. A suger free mint tides me over till i sleep usually and I use a relaxation technique to sleep which works a treat. (some deep breathing and relaxation)

Hiya!

Yep I had this too... But It went away by around week 4...

I think its just the weird energy you get from ketosis... I was never tired in the morning even if I hadnt had a good sleep...

It will hopefully stop soon... Theres nothing more frustrating than trying to sleep and you cant!

Thankfully haven't had this myself.

Have you tried having a relaxing bubble bath before bedtime?

Ugggg. It is now 8 in the morning and I still haven't been to sleep yet!! :(

Well I'm entering into my 4th week now....so hopefully it goes like you said ChellyWelly!

Bubble baths have never really been my thing....I almost drowned in a bubble bath when I was little so I kind of steer clear of them. haha

I know I won't be able to function at work today, so I'm gonna take the day off to see if I can get any sleep at all. Thanx guys! :)

i now wake up at almost exactly the same time every morning to go to the loo, 2.50 and then again at 6.30 in the morning to get up...very wierd as before i had a job to get up in the morning

and when i do wake up im wide awake straight away...! god knows why and what its got to do with using LT but hey, obviously is! lol

h xx

Glad to see I am not alone. I've always had trouble actually getting to sleep but its worse since LT. I had some sleeping pills to help me sleep after my op last week and they were great but it was only to see me thru the worst of the pain.

I know this will sound strange but I found stroking an animal particularly calming (bet you all think I am wierd now!). Oneof my cats seems to sense if I am unwell and the last 2 weeks has come in for a stroke at night, his purring is normally the last thing I here!!

animals do seem to know when a person is unwell i agree. our cat does the same if i feel ill and so does heidi our dog. they become very affectionate which is lovely when you feel cr@p lol

h xx

i don't have a pet so that's out! well. i have seamonkeys but you can't really stroke them! haha

Hi,
Hope you caught some sleep today, it's not a very nice side affect, but it will hopefully pass. As you can't take homeopathic remedies how about some scented candles or oils, lavender is calming. Also say if room temp is not right it can make it more difficult. Hope tonight will be better. Best of luck.
Doirin

Thanx Doirin....I haven't caught any sleep yet! I've been up for over 30 hours now! I'm feeling a bit cranky....but that's to be expected really. argh. It's frustrating!

I suffer a bit from this anyway nothing to do with LT for me

Things i do are nytol not the herbal ones but the over counter jobbies, also dont just keep trying to get to sleep in same place if after 20 minutes your not asleep go in another room which is dimly lit and have a little read to calm your mind down, also things like jigsaws would help too

these are the things the doctors told me and they do help
