holiday looming....

rhuba

i really don't know life
....help!

i know there's been a thread about this recently but any tips on how not to gain when you're on holiday would be greatly appreciated!!

i'm going away for two weeks starting the 3rd july. one week in geneva to spend with a couple of friends of ours who are living there atm. this week shouldn't be much of a problem. we will be out and about all day every day exploring and site seeing - maybe get some swimming in at lake geneva. also, it's so expensive there that we'll only be eating out once while we're there. the rest of the food we'll be cooking between the four of us.

the second week is more of a problem. we'll be travelling to germany by train and spending a week with my aunt and uncle who live out there. my uncle is a chef, and i'm just worried about not having a choice of food available.

i guess i'm just going to try and control my portion sizes - i don't need to eat everything on my plate!

i'm soooo looking forward to my holiday, and obviously don't want to be obssessing over every single calorie, but i don't want to set myself back by even one single lb. has any one got any wise words for me? any advice would be appreciated!

thank you lovelies xxx

i tried to cut out carbs as much as i could, and when i wanted a desert i had a salad for dinner, also i ate a salad everyother day for dinner.

remember u will be more active during the holiday, well i usually am as we walk sooooo much

if im honest rhuba i think u will have no problem at all! you've got ur head screwed on and ur motivated. you know to keep your portion sizes to normal, know to make healthy snack choices and know when to say no! i think u will be absoluely fine. are you going to carry on calorie counting on holiday or just trying to eat healthily? i hope you have a lovely time xx

hiya, thanks guys!!

yeah, i'm not too worried (esp considering last nights weigh in!!) but it's just easy to lose track and think 'ooh, i'll just have this ice cream' etc. i'm sure i'll be fine.

i'll be keeping my pedometer on at all times and making good food choices. salads all the way baby! i reckon that if i slip up and have something bad, or have a food-heavy day, i can drag the oh out the following day for an extra-long walk. it'll mean we see more sites anyway. no using public transport if it's not completely necessary!!

ooh, am getting excited now! xx

Don't worry - enjoy your holiday! Make wise food choices and you'll be fine. I think it's a really good test at how you cope at maintaining 'post diet' so to speak too. Have a great time!! :)
