Hi,

Alli the slimming aid you can buy over the counter, claims to increase weigth loss.

There for if you lost 4lbs on SS then with SS & Alli combined you will loose an extra 2lbs...

Is this dangerous, as the weight loss is dramatic anyway?

I feel as its over the counter it may be ok to use in conjunction with a low calorie diet such as CD/ SS/ Lighter life.

Can someone tell me if they use a slimming aid as well as the diet? Or simply share your thoughts?

Won't work like that.. as Alli works by reducing the amount of fat you absorb.. With a VLCD you just simply wont have the excess fat!

what she said won't work and you will end up ill, as you need a certain amount of fat for cell function. Your body really needs it.

You take that small amount of fat away you're going to cause yourself problems.

sometimes we get desperate to lose the weight quick, but CD has been researched for such a long time to give very fast results in the safest way!
If their was a quicker way which was safe, we would be given that as a plan!
Try to be patient and let the plan work... you don't want to be thin if it means half killing yourself in the process.

Hi again,

I know, thought as much, you are right Alli works by breaking the fat down & we are not consuming any. Although, that little spark of inquizitivenss, made me wonder if Alli would eat away at our fat reserves as we are not actively consuming any.

Thanks for the advice, the thought of combining the two is now over x

Thank You

Plus even on a standard low fat diet the results aren't great! If you were eating more fat (e.g on SW or WW), you might lose an extra 1lb a week, if you were lucky. Tablets cost £50 a month. So that is an expensive way to lose 4lb. Obviously on a VLCD, they won't help a bit. There just isn't the fat available, pity the tablets don't take it from our fat reserves isn't it?

You can use hunger supressants. Although if ur in ketosis you prob won't need em. And alli give you oily pooey farts! (sorry) when your off the diet or onto a higher plan try apidexin. The best safest strongest diet pill apparenately. X

why would you need a hunger suppressant when you are in ketosis?

Without being funny - if that pill worked that well a) we'd have all heard of it, b) we'd all be on it.

when off diet it should ideally be maintaining anyway through the plans, so adding stimulant diet pills to an already low calorie diet probably not the safest plan.

This drug is a weaker version of Xenical. I have been prescribed Xenical twice, in fact I was the first person in my area to go on it. Never again. It is the worst thing I have ever put in my body. The side effects are horrendous (I don't really like to go into them coz I'd get a bit embarrassed) but I ended up going to a Bowel Consultant to get my system back on track. Maybe the Xenical wasn't to blame, but I felt it had a very big influence on my condition.

Like I say, Alli is a weaker version so the side effects may not be as strong. But, if anyone is considering taking the drug (which I wouldn't advise) please be aware of the side effects. If anyone is interested to know, PM me - I just get a little shy talking about things like this lol.

See I was totally fine on xenical until i broke the "rules" on holiday. Other than that though no big deal, I just found for me it was a bit crap (no pun intended) as I ate a low fat diet anyway but just too much. I am living proof of the "just because its low fat doesnt mean you can eat it to excess" so it really did me no good in the long run.

I totally agree - side effects are horrible on Xenical. It was prescribed to me a few years back.
