Me, OH and the two kids (10 and 3 y/o) are taking my nan away to disneyland on 28th september for 2 nights. Can't wait!

But because we're only going for two nights (i think any longer would be too much for nan, who's 88!) we were thinking about taking another trip in december or january for just the four of us for maybe 4/5/6 nights.

But DD's birthday's on february 23rd, so i just had a thought... why not wait until then?!

I don't like being there over a weekend unless i can help it as i find it just too hectic, but would like to go for at least 5 nights, so i just had a look at the calendar and am thinking about going on sunday 21st february for 5 nights/6 days

I'm planning to get everything ready in secret, and then an hour befoer it's time to leave, go into her bedroom singing 'happy birthday to you', even though it'll be 2 days early

and just as she's waking up, hand her her suitcase and an envelope containing her eurostar ticket and her birthday money in euros

Then tell her to get ready QUICKLY!

Has anyone else given their kids a surprise trip? If so, how did it go? Looking forward to hearing any stories!

Hi

I kept my husbands 30th birthday holiday secret from him and the kids for 1 WHOLE YEAR!! It was to Florida and I never told them where they where going until we got to the check in desk...the look on their faces was priceless...I have it on DVD.

Also about 5 years ago I did a surprise on Xmas Eve, I told the kids they could have 1 present each but they had to do a treasure hunt to find the present...and each clue had an alphabet letter attached.
They put all the letters together along with their presents which where sunglasses and I asked them to spell out a country....yes you guessed it we flew out on boxing day for a lovely week and let the new year in in Benidorm Spain. The kids loved it as they had been saying that they would like to go away Xmas time on a previous holiday....their wish was my command!!

Great idea xxx
