Skin Creams for late 20s

Hi

I was just wondering if anyone knew the best creams day and night for anyone in their late 20's.

I've turned 29 and think its time to change my skincare routine. I have combination skin and can be prone to outbreaks.

Any advice would be appreciated .

Thanks

Hello, all depends on your budget, really. If you're anything like me you're a bargain hunter! I have bad skin... typical fair Irish complexion that freckles in the sun and shows wrinkles mighty quick. I had awful acne for years but the pill helped it (even if it made me lose my hair!)

Nivea Soft Intensive Moisturising Cream is pretty good - just a thin skim of it works for me. The nice thing about it is that it's for face, body and hands, so you can lather it on anywhere. The best toner I've tried is Garnier Clean & Fresh Invigorating Toner, smells divine and really makes your skin feel good. You can feel the old dermis splurrrrping it up when you apply!

If you feel like spoiling yourself, or have a birthday coming up and can drop a few hints (;)) I'd recommend Estee Lauder's range of daywear moisturisers. Lightweight and oil-free, they really do feel good.

For make-up, I think tinted moisturiser is a lot more flattering than foundation for everyday wear. Olay's Luminesse is a nice one and the light shade works for very fair skins. By the way, if you're looking for a bit of colour without burning in the sun, the best facial spray tan I've found is Garnier Ambre Solaire 'No Streaks Bronzer Dry Face Mist'. Just make sure you pick up the Light shade. It goes on easily, doesn't look orange, and will give you a great glow. It says it's just for the face, but the spray is so fine it's great for anywhere, really.

If you're suffering a bad breakout there's a little bargain I found once when desperately searching ebay for remedies. It's a Chinese herbal formula called 'Acne Getaway Formula 101E' and it comes in a little pink bottle. Should be able to get it for under a tenner on ebay and it really genuinely works if you apply it a few times a day - dries up all spots within a week.

Hope some of this helps! :)

Hi Blondie. I agree with Iris - it largely depends on your budget and whether you are a bargain hunter or a product junkie! Some good products recommended there. Nivea in particular do a very good range.

Personally, there are a few that I like but the one brand that has totally transformed my skin (combination also) is Philosophy. Their Purity Made Simple cleanser (philosophy purity made simple : HQhair.com Hair & Skin Care Products : philosophy purity made simple) is amazing, it totally cuts through everything, especially 'greasy oiliness' and doesn't leave the skin dry at all. Their best selling moisturiser is Hope in a Jar (philosophy hope in a jar - all : HQhair.com Hair & Skin Care Products : philosophy hope in a jar - all), and is the most amazing thing ever!!! I use this at night, and I use their Hope in a Bottle (philosophy hope in a bottle : HQhair.com Hair & Skin Care Products : philosophy hope in a bottle) for the day as it's matte and specificially designed to combat oily skin.

I would also recommend Elemis Pro-Collagen Marine Cream. Elemis Pro-Collagen Marine Cream, Marine Cream, Anti Ageing Cream, Padina Pavonica, Elemis Marine Cream I alternate this with my Philosophy, but it's the higher end of the price spectrum I'm afraid - £49'ish for a 30ml tub, £75'ish for 50mls). It is very light and sinks in like a gel.

Another one I got good results with in the past is Liz Earle Naturally Active Skin Repair - the 'light' version. Liz Earle Naturally Active Skincare - Skin Repair Light - Oily

Her cleanser - Cleanse & Polish hot cloth cleanser (Liz Earle Naturally Active Skincare - Cleanse & Polish Hot Cloth Cleanser) is also divine!! It's a thick cream you rub all over the face and take off with a muslin cloth soaked in hot water. I use this around my eyes as it's excellent at taking mascara off.

Hope you find what you're looking for! This may sound a little sad, but you should check out QVC, their beauty shows are very informative and they have all the top brands on there. Their website is good too, with lots of advice. QVC Beauty: skincare, cosmetics and make-up products from big beauty brands at QVC UK

Also, check out EBay as a lot of people buy the amazing value kits they sell on QVC and sell the products seperatley. I got my Hope in a Bottle for £17 brand new and sealed, rather than £35!! (Sorry, am a bit of a geek when it comes to beauty products!)

I'll shut up now :blahblah: lol

I really like Fresh Repair & Restore Face Balm. Though it's pricey, it really is fabulous.

Hi,

Face:
I really really love Lush's Enzymion, https://www.lush.co.uk/index.php?pa...tegory_id=485&option=com_virtuemart&Itemid=80 I use it day and night, and it's a nice light moisturiser that doesn't leave you feeling greasy/sticky. It's £11.95 for a pot but it'll last you ages. Mine lasts a few months and I use it twice a day.

Body:
I use vaseline intensive care cocoa butter lotion. I used to use Lush's Sympathy for the Skin but couldn't justify the cost anymore. I also currently use Palmers Cocoa Butter firming butter, I alternate between them each day. The Palmers really does make my skin feel tighter.

I'm 30 at the end of October and people usually guess my age as 23/24. So I must be doing something right. LOL. You just need to find what works for your skin, everyone is different.
