What to do???

Hi all

I'm off to Duabi & Oman tomorrow with work for a week and realistically will only be able to take bars as won't have the facilities for making up shakes / porridge etc.

I'm on week 5 so on 2 packs and 2 meals plus snacks. I'm thinking of taking enough bars for one a day (perhaps lunch) , having fruit / eggs for breakfast and meat / salad / veg for dinner. That will mean I am one pack down but I thought that might make up for any alcohol etc ..... hmmm that sounds like crooked thinking to me ... but it is what it is and things obviously need to be a bit flexible in situations like these ... don't they?

Would really appreciate any imput on what you would do!

From what I can gather from my LLC when I went RTM, it's the way the body deals with the sudden added sugars and starches that the slow re introduction is combatting against. You do it slowly and carefully so they are used within your daily usage of calories rather than stored and setting off binge cravings.

I think if you look for foods that you are already having on your RTM and perhaps the next group up and avoid the high starch and sugar stuff (watch that fruit!) you should be OK.

As for the alcohol, only you will be lifting that glass to your lips. Are you ready for that added bit yet?

LOL Susianna

I think you're exactly on the right track. I'd try & take 2 bars per day though, just in case - you can always bring them back home again.

Obviously you'll make 'right' food choices when eating out/breakfast (don't forget low fat yoghurt at breakfast as well) and try to keep within the guidelines, but at the end of the day push the boundaries slightly - that's what RTM is there for, but most of all, enjoy the experience.

Yep, planning to stick to what I am allowed FT, actually go into week 6 tomorrow so that gives me a little more choice. Have had my first taste of alcohol his weekend and no I wasn't ready for it lol .... had a G&T which turned into 4 oooops ..... lesson learnt tho and have decided that perhaps I should give alcohol a miss next week as I don't really feel in control of it .... and omg the carb craving the next day ... not good! So all in all quite a valuable lesson learnt there and I managed to stay away from the carbs thank god!

Sean, may well take enough for 2 bars a day then, just always had it in my head that we shouldn't have more than one bar a day ... have actually been struggling to fit the 2 meals and 2 packs in this week since the extra meal was introduced ... just really feels like its too much ... only managed it on Saturday but have had a bit more protein in my main meal instead if I have only had the one meal.

Thanks for your imput guy's!
