ah im on about my bowel movements again!

Just a rant, ive been SO constipated since doing SW, and in the past 2 weeks ive been feeling worse with it, pain on one side of the body, not being able to go to the toilet, bloatedness etc, and im wondering as the stools harden whether this may result in my lack of 'losses' recently?! Im hoping so! I've been given some lactolase anyway and am hoping to just 'clear' the system up hehe

But ive never been constipated like this before since doing SW, what is it about the diet that does this?

I find that Dong Quai helped me with movements as I had the same problem as you when I first started. Still take it now as it helps me a great deal.

are you drinking enough water, if you are having more fibre then you need more water to, failing that get some scan bran that deff works lol

Interesting as we started at roughly the same time, have the same loss, weigh about the same and i have the same problem! I never did before i started this, and i also eat lots of veges, fruits and my HEx's. i was thinking it was just me!

sure you're not my long lost twin!!!???

Maybe thats it, just the change of diet..?

Its starting to get painful to pass stools now and im gonna go the doctors tomorrow, im getting worried it could be something serious now as im getting a pain in my back, ive recently had a miscarriage and it might just be a side effect of the pregnancy..but im fairly sure this is slimming world!

Sorry to hear that. It probably is the diet. I find a strong coffee sometimes get things moving but not in a fun way!

I'm at the end of my first week and having the same problem, glad its not just me!!

I'm just worried that it will affect my weigh in tomorrow.

Sarah-Jayne can I ask what Dong Quai is please?

I am having the same problem.....
Since starting SW I am drinking at least 4-5 pints of water a day (before SW I drank practically none).... I am eating more fibre than I ever have, Im eating tons of fruit, strawberries, blueberries, grapes, Im eating Ryvitta, Bran Flakes etc and lots of fresh vegetables every day, yet Im having the same problem.
My OH swears by cod liver oil tablets, so Im taking one tonight to see if it starts things moving.... hope so....

Dong Quai is a herbal tablet that is supposed to help with the following:

  • High blood pressure
  • Blood tonic

  • Rheumatic diseases, such as rheumatoid arthritis
  • Anemia
  • Allergies
  • Constipation
  • Shingles
  • Hepatitis
  • Headache
Its helped me a great deal withbowl movements, i do feel a lot calmer and my monthlys are not as bad as they used to be.

Thanks for that it sounds great and I'll definitely be getting some.:)

I want some dong whatsits name too.

I dida low carb diet last year and struggled terribly with constipation so red days may cause a few issues. But then iwent almost three weeks on Weight watchers and it was awful.

A probiotic may help if nothing else does. I have been doing mainly green days upto now and eating apricots and have been fine - i don't drink any water though - i hate it.

I've been having the same problem too and I am into my 3rd week now, and like everyone else, I eat fibre, fruit and drink load's of water.

I bought a stool softner called 'Dulcoease' and it made going to the loo a lot easier and less painful (sorry to be so graphic), you can get it at chemists and supermarkets.

Just to update, took a laxative on saturday and kicked in last night..the flood gates have opened and im feeling loads better
