Two questions need answering

Hi

This is my first post so please be gentle. I having been doing the lighterlife diet now for a number of months and have lost an incredible 5 stone. I have planned a holiday at the end of June with a few mates and had always planned on hitting target by this point and moving into management which will allow me to have an evening meal. However, I am still 9kg's off my target and my councellor suggests that if I want to eat on holiday to move into management asap so that I can familiarise myself with eating before I go. My question is, would you suggest coming off the diet early and moving into management so that I can eat on holiday or stick to my guns and continue with the shakes until I hit my target?

Phew..thats question number one out of the way. My second question is, has anyone taken foodpacks to the USA before? Do i need to do anything before I travel with them?

Thanks for the help.

Well done on your loss SJ, 5 stone is amazing.

There are a few people who have taken them to the USA, BL for one. I would suggest that you pack them in your suitcase and have a letter from your councilor stating what they are and why you have them just in case. But I am sure that you will be fine.

Sticking to the plan while away is shows such a strong commitment. I am trying not to do anything like that while on abstinence as I know it would be hell!!! I know 2 people in my group that went to the USA for a 2 week long holiday and ate. They have been fine getting back on track as they knew it was just for the holiday. But at the end of the day it can still be done 100% no matter where you are. The decision is yours.

Good luck x

I would say if you are intending to drink alcohol whilst over there, certainly move up plans. x x

I'm in the same boat! I'm going to the south of France in early August and was looking forward to the food quite a bit, but have realised that at the end of the day losing weight is more important to me than eating whilst on holiday.

I also have Reading Festival at the end of August, which I'm assuming will be hell without alcohol.

BUT, 6 days into LL, I think I'll soon learn to enjoy myself without food/drink.

My opinion would be that you're so close to your target it'd be a shame to get off track! But, overall, it's your own decision. Good luck either way.

No right or wrong decision TBH. It's perefctly possible to continue losing on RTM whilst eating (healthily) - see my stats for evidence lol.

Week 5 RTM and alcohol is 'allowed' but again it's your choice to bend the rules. Persoanlly I'd move to RTM then bend the rules a little while away rather than staying fully on packs and 'coming completely off plan' as that can seriously mess with some peoples' heads.

Good luck whichever you decide.
