Angel and Devil!

100% all the way!
:devilangel:

The picture above is excatly how I feel! I've done Cambridge twice before and gave up each time after a couple of weeks :(

Now I'm on my 5th day and although haven't been naughty yet, I'm constanly battling with myself about eating something and it's really annoying me now! I don't even want anything and I'm not hungry!

I really want to do this and need to ( I'm 26 stone!).

Does anyone else experience this? If so what do you do?

I've tried to occupy myself by walking and doing something and it does work but I'm just looking for more suggestions!

Thanks in Advance xxx

It has taken me to day 9 to not feel hungry and today i didnt have my third pack until half past 9 tonight. I've upped the amount of water i'm drinking to between 4 and 5 litres a day and i think this helps.
If you've made it to day 5 you're doing so well. There are quite a few of us here just now within the first 10 days so there will be plenty support for you.
Only you can do it for you and you know how hard this diet can be but the results speak for themselves. (I too know how tough it is as i didnt manage to make it to target last year). Just think how much better and healthier you will feel in just a matter of a few weeks.
Good luck to you.

Well done for making it through the first 5 days! Am i guessing your having your first weigh in a couple of days. That will make a massive difference, trust me.
Every time you feel like you want to eat something, just imagine yourself losing all your weight and how fabulous you will feel.
Its just weighing up which is going to be more worth it.
I actually started out at 22 stone so sometimes it does seem like such a massive task but there is no better way to get the weight off quickly. I have been doing it for 10 weeks now and have lost 3 and a half stone and if i can do it, anyone can!
Just stick with it and it will get easier. If you are anything like me, in a couple of weeks you will stop thinking about food, which is a nice feeling.
Don't forget to post your first weight loss and good luck!

P.S I'm from Southampton too! Whoop whoop! lol

its ok to battle with yourself on the food side hun, but your doing the right thing which is not giving in!
Food has controlled most of us too much over the years, and its time to stand up and shout from the roof tops that its going going to be the boss of you again!
Get to that weigh in and when you see the results you get, that will spur you on to next week, and then the week after!
I now wake up and know that i will not be fat forever...i wake up with a revised enthusiasm for ME....and i didnt think i would ever get that!
I'm sick of being the girl who buys shoes and handbags becuase i cant get into the really nice clothes i want to wear!
Write a diary of how being overweight makes you feel...the aches the pains etc...be very graphic...and stick it on the fridge, the walls, anywhere! Remind yourself WHY you are doing this on a daily basis and keep that focus!
Dreaming of food is ok, its the eating it that is the slippery slope!
Your doing super hun!

That angel and devil thing is constantly what my mind is like. Its a constant battle in my mind between good 100% thoughts and evil cheating binging thoughts. Its hard, very hard, but the more the good thoughts win the weaker the bad thoughts become!

My best advice would be lots of baths (and John Grisham books, if they're your kind of thing!)!
This got me through the first 3 weeks, after that I found it kind of becomes second nature.

Hey
Well done on getting to day 5, your doing so well.. I know it can be really hard to keep yourself busy but thats what you have to do to take your mind of food.. Go for walks, read a mag, bubble bath, pamper yourself anything to stay away from food..
It really is worth it and if you really want to do it , YOU can do it and you are on the way to being slim xx

Those food thoughts are just habits !!! Let them fly out of your head, you don't have to act on them anymore ........you sound so ready to move ahead with your weight loss goals. Keep reading lots of posts here, especially the longer term CD ers, they have a wealth of advice and inspirational pics and stories. Good luck :)

Thanks everyone for your replies xxx

Nice to know that you can come on here and find people in the same boat as you!

I went for a walk today which was great as it's the first time my back didn't hurt and have to sit down! (thats how heavy I was getting!) So that has given me more motivation to carry on! xx

I was the same at the beginning, I constantly wanted food, craving things I never thought I even liked. When I discussed it with my CDC we planned an emergency meal (from SS+), so if I really had to have food it was planned. In the end I didn't need it, and it has got easier and easier. Keep it up you will get through it and the cravings seem to stop.

Do you know why you started and stopped CD twice before? The fact that you are thinking about eating but aren't hungry sounds to me like you are could be trying to sabotage this time?

What I have always felt about this diet is that it is the mental part that is the toughest. We know we can survive on the 3 or 4 packs a day, we drink the water, get through the day, go to bed and wake up the next day and do it again. It is the voices in our head that tells us that we need/ want/ have to have food - when in reality we don't. It is moving past these temptations/ voices that is the real achievement (in my opinion)

I hope this isn't too personal as obviously I don't know you and is just my opinion. I am a serial self sabotager, and I made a promise to myself at the start of this diet that I wouldn't let me ruin this for me. As in previous diets WW, SW etc.

Just need to work on the other parts of my life I screw up!!! ;)
