Apple shapes

So, I am definitely an apple body shape - skinny legs (already I can get my legs into size 12 skinny jeans) and my arms aren't massive. However, my stomach is an entirely different matter. I carry pretty much 85% of my excess weight there. Over the last 6-7 weeks my legs have got skinnier and I have lost it from elsewhere as well but not as much from my stomach.
So, my question to all you other apples out there is when does it start to go?! I know it is but really want that bit to go NOW!

Hey Jo

I wish I knew the answer, I am also apple shaped, and it is the bane of my life, unlike my sister who has a proper hourglass figure!! Just want to see the belly shrink away. When I was seeing a PT 2 years ago, he told me it wold always be the last thing to go... kinda depressing :( still it will go!!!

It always seems to go off the bit you want most last of all! I am pear shaped and lost most of my weight at the beginning from my stomach when really I wanted it off my legs and bum. I'm 1/2 lb off 6 stone now and have noticed that my legs and bum are now shrinking but it took a while! Hang on in there, it'll happen eventually!

Seems that in principle from my own observation of LighterLife group members; I've seen people lose "from the outside in" ... So you'll very much notice your wrists, lower arms, lower legs get thinner far before anything else. The fat density around your limbs is lower, hence it is more noticable when it comes off... and unfortunately the lower belly is the last to go. It is the most central part of us, and probably layers the most fat in density - it also is vital to have some there to protect our vital organs! We cannot have nothing there at all - it's just not natural.

The apple shape is attributed to fat layered around your vital organs too; thankfully though - apparently this is one of the first areas to lose weight - so we feel quite 'empty' in a way during our weight loss. Having inner fat around your organs is very dangerous and can lead to many complications in the long run.

 There are of course exceptions like Snannapuss - who proves that we're all different. We all have extremely diverse shapes and physiologies.

I know I am even fat in the most unhealthy way possible - typical! The only good thing about it is I don't have a problem wearing shorts at this time of year and as my legs are the best part of me!
