Daisy - Looks like you're going to have a brilliant weather weekend. Enjoy the holiday looking and feeling fab.

Me - I'm off diving again on the west coast and seriously looking forward to being out on the boat in the sun. My dry suit is getting a lot baggy and I'll have to buy a new one when I get to goal :D.

Brilliant having days away to look forward to isn't it?

Diving - this is one thing i really want to do soon now that i'm smaller! I had a quick go in the pool on holiday in tenerife a few years back and loved it. Do you have to obtain any qualifications/lessons first are just turn up?

Hi BB - Diving is just BRILLIANT :D. I love the feeling of being able to move in 3D and see all the wierd and wonderful critters in their own environment. Plus I love picking up scallops and lobster for my tea (not at the moment obviously!). Used to be a complete wreck head and have a load of gorgeous brass items at home (all legal) and have spent plenty time doing underwater archaeology too, which is pretty fascinating.

I've been diving for more than 20 years and started with BSAC at uni, moving on to professional diver qualifications with the HSE. Yes, qualifications are well advised. This is a sport that has potentially fatal consequences for every small error.

BSAC have a big network of local clubs in the UK and their training is usually pretty thorough starting in the pool and building up skills each week before getting out to open water.

PADI is the other main option. Most dive shops operate a PADI dive school. Tends to be short courses to get badges, but suits some people as they can get out to open water quicker. They often organise dive trips too where it's a just turn up scenario.

I dive with a regular group of folk and we're all qualified or have sufficient skills to take the boats out and navigate and cope with any emergencies that do arise from time to time.

Oops, hadn't meant to write so much. Apologies for those not interested.

We bought our son a full PADI course for his 21st birthday. He's now in Bali loving using it!!

Have a fab weekend all, we're off to Morocco on Sunday to put some weight on so I can come back and be with you all a bit longer!! Yes I am looking forward to the challenge of seeing how good I can be!! Eek!
