Have you done a food diary and looked at it with your consultant? Maybe its something that your eating that slowing your loss, try cutting back on things like bread, potatoes etc for one week and see if that helps your loss. At my group there are a few ladies that have cut out certain foods and found they loose alot quicker so this may be the case for you? Look back at your food diary for the first 3 weeks and try and follow that?

Also could you cut down your syns for a week and see if that helps too?

Try not to get disheartened, you can do it!!

Hey thanks for your reply! my consultant can't find anything wrong with my Diarys I only ever use max 4 syns in a day and had cut bread out completely, but I have been eating potatoes maybe I should try cutting them out for a week.

I go to the gym at least 4 times a week and just cant get my head around it all.

thanks

hi lisalo
you say you have been going to the gym at least 4 times a week have you noticed that you have lost inches rather than weight sometimes that happens. Also you say you have only been using 4 syns a day i may be wrong but is that not a bit on the low side i was under the impression that you should use 10-15 a day and then when you hit a plateau you cut them down. but if you are using 4 a day that idea would be impossible.
I would say keep at it, like others have said go back to your food diarys and look at those and follow them. You could also check that you are being acurate with hex as it is very easy to overjudge!! hope you get your weight loss kickstarted again!!

Yeh I agree with the syns thing, I tried cutting them right down & it didnt aid my weight loss at all! I find that if I aim for around 10 a day then my weight loss is at its best so maybe try increasing them a bit as they do say you should eat to loose so might be worth a try?

One person in my group cut out rice and began to loose alot quicker, if it were me i'd try to cut out one thing per week & see if there is a difference :) x

definately increase your syns, your body may well of gone into deprivation mode and wont burn any calories. Another thing may be to track your measurements as well as weight as it's possible your loosing inches rather than weight as your fat disappears and muscle mass forms (which weighs heavier).

Good luck,

Hey thanks everyone, think i'll try to cut potatoes out and see what happens as i eat them prob about 5 nights a week! I thought my not using my syns i was doing the right thing that it would aid my weight loss!

Its so frustrating my mum joined at the same time as me and has lost over 2 stone.

cutting out things wont help, by all means cut down if you want, but if I were you I'd increase syns as the first port of call, and make sure you're measuring you Healthy Extras properly and have a chat with your Mum - see what she's doing.

Best of luck

I agree I think you should try and eat more syns, 4 a day doesn't seem enough, I wish you luck with your next WI.

OK Huney, now lets sort you out! Denying yourself syns DOESN'T work! You don't say how much you have to lose, why don't you put it on your details? No one will judge you, after all we aren't all here because we are supermodels! You MUST eat enough to lose weight! Start off on at least 10, but preferably 15 syns per day. Eat everything you are allowed on the plan. Lots of free foods! Fruit and veg.If you have tried losing weight before discovering SW then you will be in the mode of cutting your intake of food back drastically. You need to suspend belief and stuff yourself with all your free foods! It goes against everything you believe helps you to lose weight, but KEEP THE FAITH! IT WORKS!
As I said in another post, a girl came to class last night, last week she put 1lb on and was devastated! She didn't have breakfast, and didn't use her syns (she is a big girl) Last night she was frightend to get on the scales as she had in her words "never stopped eating all week" She lost 6 1/2lbs! She was gobsmacked.
It does take a big leap of faith when you have done diets that require you to drastically reduce your intake, but it really doesn't work if you cut back, especially at first. You need some leeway to cut back when you eventually hit a plateau.
I have made excuses for years that it was difficult to lose weight when you're past the menopause. In fact being truthful I was cheating, and the minute I stopped and came back to SW and followed the plan properly the weight peeled off me faster than it ever has! (I'm 58) The blip was my fault! Too much gin the day before WI, but I clawed it back last week! I was determined.
So the lesson is, trust the plan, eat everything you are allowed and you WILL lose weight! Good luck!

Ok i am going to get a food diary out and start over tomorrow, most days i havent been using syns or all my healthy extras, but i thought maybe i was eating too much free foods.

I only have about 2 stone to lose!

lets hope i can get this moving!

Some great advice up there ^^^

There's such a thing as being 'too good' you know. I went through a phase of it myself and was really frustrated at not losing more than half or 1 lb a week, sometimes maintaining and sometimes gaining.

Definitely, definitely eat more syns. 4 a day isn't enough.
Also, make sure you get those healthy extras in. They're there to give your body stuff it needs to make you healthy and help you lose weight. Fibre to get things moving and calcium is proven to aid fat transit through the body.
Stick with plenty of free foods - fruit and veg all the way. Fills you up and gives you loads of good stuff in your system
Keep up with that exercise. It will be doing you loads of good in fitness and getting inches off. If you're going at it hard, you will def need to up your food slightly to give your body the fuel it needs to keep going.

You'll get there and find what's right for you....
