I just wondered even though im well away from my target whats the best way to keep the weight off once you got to your goal weight?
Ive read so many stories of people losing then putting it right back on so wanted to see if anyone had any views on this?

Unfortunately I think the problem is we will never be able to eat normal - like you see all these people doing (like my OH). I have come to the conclusion that I will need to healthy it for the rest of my life with the occasional treat. Also plenty of exercise will help maintain the weight. Too many people, myself included, get to their ideal weight and go back to eating what they did before and low and beyold the weight goes back on. This is the reason I am back on again seriously - I lost all the weight last year put on a stone and half and am back on it to get back to what I was last year but it is my own fault! :wave_cry:

Totally agree with FeelingFat in that anyone that has had to lose an amount of weight will probably always have to watch what they are doing but, hopefully, by losing weight over a period of time and being sensible as we go that will help ingrain some of the new eating lifestyles we need to adopt - at least, that's how Im looking at it!

My DH will always be able to eat me under the table and stay thin - but I've not decided that the way he eats is not normal either (not that he has a problem - I've just decided that it's not normal to be able to do that and Im eating more normal than him!

I think it is just a case of replacing the shakes with healthy meals that don't contain too many calories... for example a 300 calorie breakfast a 400 calorie lunch and an 800 calorie evening meal....leaving you with 400 calories to snack on fruit etc...

This is probably what I will aim to do...well something similar anyway. I am hoping that by the time I lose a fair amount of weight my appetite will have shrunk a bit and I won't be so obsessed with looking for my next bite to eat lol x

Well, I believe that the SlimFast website has a section on Maintaining.. I'm sure it involves always replacing one meal with SF. Another way to go about it is once you loose your weight, to go to a website like myfitnesspal.com and figure out how many calories you should be consuming a day to maintain your current weight.. and then figure out your diet/lifestyle through that. I am not sure what I'll be doing to maintain. I'm not really looking that far ahead yet! :8855:
