*SAFE* "Mayonaise" recipe - Yummy, allowed, and virtually sin free!!!

Blonde Logic

Yes. You can.
1 12 oz box silken Tofu (must be silken <soft> tofu as will not work with firm)
2 tsp Sesame Oil (or Olive, or not at all)
1/2 tsp dry mustard (or more if you like - I do)
2 Tblsp rice or apple cider vinegar
2 tsp Soy Sauce (I oftne omit this)
Salt to taste

Blend it all ina food processor. If you have an attachment with the smaller bowl I think it works better. Just whip it untill completely smooth and gorgeous.

This has been a life saver for me. You can have Pasta/Macaroni type salads, cole slaw, etc., without any guilt at all. There is VIRTUALLY no fat. ANd its a beautiful consistency.

Once made, you can flavour it as you like for salad dressings, etc. Add a bit of blue cheese; whip it whit acovado; make a Marie Rose (is that what the prawn cocktail dressing is called? We call it 1000 Island)....anyway, the list is a limted as your imagination.

Hope you like it!!

Guess what?

We call it marie rose too - you Yanks probably stole it from us - and we probably stole it from the French!!
Yep, just wiki'd it - interesting origin.
It's yummy anyway and all the variations.
Having finally found where they hide the silken tofu in Sainsbury's, I'll give your recipe a try.
I use 0% fat organic, pro-biotic Greek style natural yogurt in the same way - as a base for most cold sauces, coleslaw, dressings etc - add black pepper, lemon tomato pure or curry powder or whatever. It's a God-send as I don't like "dry" food and rich sauces used to be my downfall.
mmmmmmmmmmmxx:rolleyes:

Hmmm.. sounds good.

I've just been using 2 parts 0% natural probiotic yog with 1 part tom puree - and its been a god send as well.

Like you SB I don't like dry food and mayo was my downfall. Joys.
