Hello everyone, hope all is well.

I've now been on LL since the 10th Feb and as of weigh in last Friday I've lost 5 stone all but a pound, I feel bloody fantastic, so many little things, the positive comments, my clothes feeling baggier by the day, wearing a belt for the first time in years, pain that I had in my heels has demonstrably improved, being able to shop in "normal" shops again and not have to pay extortionate prices for clothes, being able to sit next to people on the bus and not feel embarrassed that maybe you're encroaching on their space, not sweating incessantly anymore....the list goes on, it's all good.

I'll be straight - I haven't abstained for the entire period, I've had planned lapses, if you can call it that but the main thing is for me is that I've always been in control, I've been back on the diet straight afterwards and the important thing is that I've continued to head in the right direction. Downwards. My confidence has positively soared along with my self-esteem and as a result my self-worth has increased too.

It's great feeling this way and I hope it continues, the people on here continue to be an inspiration for me and it just goes to show what you can achieve if you really want to change for the better.

Thanks LL, you've given me my life back.

Cheers,

Mark.

Well done Mark. Its great to feel heathier and look better isn't it.Congratulations on your acheivements :D xx
What is your plan now? Are you moving to RTM soon or what?

Hi Mark - as of last week I too have lost 5 stone. Bl***y brilliant feeling isn't it! :D:D

But being female it has taken me since January and with no lapses :(. I still have another 4 stone to lose, but I am very motivated and love the inspiration everyone on here provides.

Thank you LL
Thank you Minimins
and
Thank you everyone who contributes on this forum :grouphugg:

Isn't it amazing!!?

You've done SO well! I can't even imagine haven eaten and getting back on plan straight away - that's taken some strength of character! Well done you!

What amazes me is that now I'm doing RTM and staying the same weight, I actually think of myself as being tiny! I'm not sure that I can explain that, but I was always feeling huge, like I took up to much space in the world, but now I feel like a tiny thing physically, and I love this as I think it will make it easier to stay in control. This hasn't happened overnight and I still felt larger, even though I knew I was a size 10.

Sorry, I'm waffling, but I just want to give you the biggest pat on the back and huge hug! You little inspiration you!

Thanks people, I really appreciate your comments. Basically things have transpired against me recently which means I won't be able to afford the diet much longer, so I won't be doing RTM, I wish I had the money but I don't so there you go.
Daisy, I will post some pictures soon, when I get the courage! The problem is that I don't have a great deal of pictures when I was really big, for obvious reasons but I'll see what I can do.

BB.... I'm sorry you are facing financial challenges - but is there not ANYTHING you can do to swing RTM? The costs goes down after the first few weeks, and will certainly be less then a weekly shop , and the items you will need on top will be minimal to start with.

I think we have ALL seen just how slippery the slope is when people skip RTM. It is the most important part of the diet, and even the strongest have fallen when skipping it....we see them come back to the forum time and time again full of regret for skipping RTM. All had the intention to do it themselves, felt they could, but then it came back.

Honestly, do you not have something you can sell? Or do weekly boot sales for a month or two? Its like making a huge investment and then folding at the end. :( UYou have worked so hard, and done so well - I hate to think all the work, blood, sweta and tears will be in vain. :(

If there is a will, there is usually a way!

No BB! You can't skip RTM!! I did the first time and I had to come back!!!!!! This time I've even done RTM so I can go on holiday, it's that important to me to do it right this time. If you can't afford it for much longer, switch to RTM now while you still can. You need to wean your body back into foods especially the sugars and bigger carbs.

Hopefully you have enjoyed the feeling of being smaller and will notice the danger signs. If you continue coming here for support too, you should be in with a chance of saving all your hard work but please, please try to do the RTM, even the 4 week LLL one!!

I been there man. it was like Nam. You could see it coming but there was nothign you could do. Charlie was all around you.

I lost 4.5 stone on LL but skipped RTM. Slippery slope ISNT THE DAMN WORD!!!!

I have now put it all back on and am currently more unhappy than I was at the start of LL due to all the hard work going out the window.

I am now back on that climb to slim.

DOnt skip RTM. Sell belongings or summin!!!

well done coming back, second times the charm

how long did it take you to put it all back on if you don't mind me asking

I'm glad I read this as I hadn't even taken RTM into consideration

Still quite a while for me yet but ...

Well done BB, you've done brilliantly and indeed are inspirational. I hope, like the others say, that you can find a way to do RTM. I know the feeling of financial pressures, every month I do on LL is another month earlier I have to find a job and go back to work because I'm eroding my savings, instead of looking after my son but this is an investment for both of us.

Keep up the good work

Hi BL and others,

I've taken on board the comments here and decided to go into RTM in 2 weeks.

I have a lot more to lose but I guess this way if I start earlier I still get the benefits of the diet and it is cheaper. Regarding the money, I've meticulously gone over the finances and with a (big) squeeze should just be able to do it. Can't put a price on an healthy, longer life eh?

Ideally I want to lose another 3 stone before I start RTM but nevermind. I have struggled, it's because I've hit a big physical and mental milestone recently, the 20st mark, I haven't been this light for 10 years, so to me, as ridiculous as it sounds to the outside world, I feel like I've made it, when in reality I still have an awful long way to go. I see this as the 2nd part now, to get down to a healthy weight.

I know one thing, I NEVER want to go back to what I was.

No, you can't. I'm really glad you're doing RTM as it really does seem to be the KEY to success.

personally I lost weight very quickly in abstinence (like you) and have continued to lose in the first few weeks of RTM, but it really IS in RTM when you start to work out what food is all about, and begin to formulate strategies for the rest of your life (God I hope I don't look back on this post in 2 years time & think 'what a ##### - obviously didn't know what he was talking about' ).

Good decision, and in all honesty there's no reason why you can't lose he extra 3 stone later with calorie control, or even short blasts on LL or LLL.

Great result so far BB, keep the faith & focus

Hi BB
glad to hear you are going to do RTM
it will be worth it - and it does get cheaper as you will be reducing the packs throughout

as you say you can't put a price on your health, especially now you have a little baby
