I need a bit of advice, I started the gym last week went three times and ate really well, and gained pound and half :-O I was soooo annoyed!!:( been good again this week (apart from blip on sun) and been at gym again and according to my scales iv gained a pound L my weigh in is on thurs so il see wat those scales to me! But how can I gain even last week?any answers?its really disheartening!!xxx

You can't gain every week if you stick to plan. You really can't!

Something must be creeping in somewhere, are you weighing and measuring your milk/cheese/HX's?
Do you count everything?
Do you keep a food diary? It may be worth it as then your consultant can have a look and see if anything is wrong.
Don't worry about what you weigh on your scales, Thursday is the only weight which counts.

Stick with it, if you follow the plan, the weight will come off.

Stick with it. I was thinking of joining the gym. Maybe i wont now!

Our consultant told us hun, that the first week of joining the gym you can often have a small gain.. I had a gain the first week i joined the gym, but have lost every week since and thats been about 5 months now..

Try not to worry - my weight goes up and down a lot even in a day so my best advice would be hide your home scales ( i know its hard) and just weigh at group. I bet you will get a nice surprise that way!!!

Good luck xx

I've had a few exercise issues through my SW career (and still have!)...but ultimately, it's good for you!

It tones you up, which makes you lose inches, if not weight. It makes you fitter, which in turn helps increase the rate at which you burn calories (your metabolic rate)...which will make you burn fat more quickly. You'll feel the benefits of being fitter all the time - popping upstairs, running for a bus, carrying shopping, generally feeling better and less tired. You'll sleep better at night...shall I go on?! ;)

Exercise is ace!

Keep it up, make sure you drink plenty of water all the time - being hydrated is important. If you're doing loads of cardio you'll need carbs for fuel...but if you want to feed your muscle it's a good idea to eat lean protein after exercising. For fat-burning, you want to be doing moderate exercise. So that's something that raises your heart rate and makes you break a gentle sweat and feel slightly breathless. Once you get into heart pounding/sweat pouring/can't speak territory, you're doing cardio, which is still good for your fitness but does different things for you body-wise.

I'm not an expert...there are many on here more knowledgeable than moi. But I have had my exercise issues, as I said, so I've done some reading up about it all.

I'm not saying you need to be fit like Kelly Holmes!!! Good grief, I'm Miss Lazy really! But it really will help you get the figure you want, in the long term.
