Worried... (being anal here, sorry)

Luci-De-Milo

is going to do this!
Just been thinking about something a bit stupid.

Basically I'm trying to keep off pressure off myself on CD, saying I'll give it as long as it needs and what comes off comes off. However, I *do* have a time limit - when I start uni, as I won't have the money to carry on (nor possibly the time), and I don't want to find a new CDc at such at late stage.

So anyway, I keep hearing, "average loss on SS is a stone a month", so I think great, (by the way, can someone clarify whether a month means 4 weeks, or whether they mean an actual month like from the 1st to the 1st. It doesn't make much difference over one month but it adds up over several months to several weeks more if they actually mean a 'month') that means by week 8/9, I should be about 10.2, as I started off at 12.2
But then I started thinking, well it's an "average" - so some people have more and some have less. And to be honest, I'm likely to fit into the less category as my start weight is lower than the average CD'er.

Which means it might take me til, say, the end of June. But then if that happens, I've only got about 2 and half months to lose 23lbs. And once I hit 10.2, which may well be the end of June/early July, I have to go on 810 plan. The losses on 810 are lower than SS by several pounds. So, how am I going to do it? Is it possible?

I know it varies from person to person - I just wondered if perhaps any CDcs have had clients similar to me?
Sorry if this is an annoying thread, it's just that I can't find anyone else on Minimins with stats similar to mine that I can sort of get an indication from. Obviously I'd rather go to uni being, for example, 9.7 stone than not having done this at all and been 12.2 stone, so I'm glad I've done it. It's just that I won't be happy until I'm back down to 8.7, it's what I was before and I don't think I can settle for anything less at the moment.

Anybody? :) Hope you're all well etc, sorry for me being so anal! :p

Hi
I think to be perfectly honest, no-one can put a time/weight limit target on this plan. The stone a month is an average. As a guide only.

Everybody is different, everybody loses at different rates and I personally have found that as soon as I start giving myself "targets" I feel under so much pressure to achieve that when it does not go exactly to that plan I start to beat myself up and thus fall off the wagon totally to the other extreme.

My advice would be to forget all timescales/targets etc and just get on the plan. Take each day as it comes and feel positive with any losses that you achieve. You may find that once you have lost some weight and start feeling/looking good, that the set target you have may seem irrelevent.
Peoples bodies change with weight loss and although you may have your ideal weight, it may be a case that in fact you look/feel great at a totally different weight.

Obviously it is your choice, but no-one at Uni will know what you weigh anyhow. Once you see the results that following CD offers, I am sure your confidence will be a such a high, you won't be quite so worried.

Good Luck
Bev x

Why not start to put a little money aside each week from now until you go to uni? (say £5). That way, if you need to continue for a while, you'll have some money to cover a few more weeks - and if you're already at goal, you'll have a small fund for going out and treating yourself :D.
That also means you can take the pressure off yourself for now - otherwise any loss which is smaller than you want could get you really down and could result in you doing what we're all here for, turning to food for comfort!

(just a thought.....)

Absolutely. Spot on advice there.

Good idea :)

Won't you start uni in september/october time?

Thats a good amount of time to lose a good chunk of weight. Might not be exactly how much you wanted, but will definately be a lot slimmer than your starting weight. Try to look at the positive (that you will be going in the right direction) rather than you might not have got to your target.

Try not to stress out too much Luci it my dishearten you, your doing great already, stay positive and like someone already said, try and hoard small amounts of cash when you can, also try and up your water intake if you can.

Hey everyone.

Wow I was really negative last night, no idea why...

Fitz you're right, taking each day as it comes is something I've really been trying to do and it *is* the best way to do this diet. I can hardly change what is going to happen from now til October, all I can do is stick to it 100% and hope it works :)

Koptcat - I hadn't thought of that, that's something I may well do. That should pay for about a month more of CD on the higher plans which could make a difference!

Liz1987 - Yeah I start at the end of September. As I said, I'm glad I did CD as although I want to go back down to 8.7, I would rather be going to uni at say 9.7 stone than 12.2 which is what I'd started at! It's just other people use those with similar stats for just a bit of inspiration when the times get tough, and as I can't really do that I wondered if anyone knew anyone similar to me. Not that it would actually prove anything about how I may do on CD, I was just being negative last night!

Witchy - You're right as always! Isn't it strange that before CD, most of us would probably be over the moon with even 2lbs lost in a week, but when it happens on CD we feel we have done something wrong. I just needed a kick up the backside everyone lol, thank you for providing the foot! xxxx

Hey hon
Like others have said.. Just take each day as it comes your doing great but sometimes we can drive ourselves mad with targets and things but really its not going to make any difference if stick to what you are supposed to be it is beyond your control what your body lets you lose each week, and if your still drinking your water each day..

So chin up your doing great take it a step at a time I know you are desperate to look great for when you go back to Uni but I am sure whether your 8 1/2 stone or 9 1/2 stone you will still look fab and confident and ready to GO GIRL!!!!!!
