Im new to weight watchers....

Hiya all,

Im new to weight watchers, after years of crash diets, and yo yo dieting, i decided to give it a try!

In the past the diets i have tried have worked, but only temporarily..

The Cambridge Diet - collapsed in the gym due to lack of foodagel;youre not meant to do heavy excercise but i thought it would speed up the weight loss!

ABC Diet - ABC diet is where you change your daily allowance of calories everyday - i only found out later that it stood for Ana Boot Camp! horrible horrible diet - got down to 150 cals per day but i was NOT happy =(

South Beach Diet - high protein that focuses on replacing fat with muscle

Size Zero Diet - 500 cals per day

Super Size Zero Diet - 250 cals per day

I have also tried diet pills - you name it ive tried it!

Adios,
Acomplia,
Rimonabant,
Lipotrim,
Alli,
NV

and there is the obvious - not eating at all.

i must highlight that NONE of the above helped longterm, and i have ended up doing is screwing up my metabolism - and at 21 that is NOT good =(

Weight watchers seems to be working - only 3 1/2 lbs lost in 2 weeks, and im teaching myself to be patient!!

yes i could lose a stone in a week, i have done that before with the extreme diets i have tried in the past; but i want to keep it off, and be healthy, get my metabolism back on track...

Anyone else new to Weight Watchers?
Words of advice are most welcome!!! xxx

Hi Kitten. I'm new to ww, had my first meeting last monday and have my second one tonight, but only started properly Friday as it took me a while to get into, but now i'm finding it really easy (for now, lol), think it's one of the easiest i've tried as it doesn't feel like a diet at all. So far i've lost 2lb so not bad going, although i am on xenical as well, but have only needed to take 4 of the pills (meant to be 4 a day) as i'm finding the ww so healthy that there is no fat for the pills to flush out.

Hiya,

i started with some friends a couple of weeks ago, on wed it will be my 3rd weigh in, but only 2 weeks of dieting.

on my first week my friends lost around 4lbs, but i only lost 1 lb =( but the ladies there explained that this is most likely due to the fact that I have been yo-yo dieting for the last 5 years, and prior to WW i was on the super size zero diet, which has an impact on your metabolism.

the following week (last wed) i had lost a further 2.5 lbs, which brings my total to 3.5 lbs in 2 weeks which is ok i guess, but i just want to see the results NOW!! hee hee

mainly cos i got a holiday 4 weeks on friday - in theory i could have lost a stone in total by then but we'll see!!

how much do you want to lose in total? xx

Hi Kitten

Welcome! WW Will seem slow compared to most of the extreme diets ... but at least you get to live while doing it ... and you get the added bonus of being able to join this wonderful forum :D

Good luck!

hello and welocme. slow and steady wins the race!!

visited the IOM a few years back and thought it a lovely place -would love to come back

hiya, thanks for all being so welcoming!!

the IOM is a gorgeous place, im so proud to be Manx too!! =)

you should come - although the weather is not fantastic at the moment!!

TT week soon, in fact the practises are only 2 Weeks away - the IOM becomes a party island! woop woop!!

I hope this WW works for me, ive really exchausted all my options!! the only remaining option for me would be liposuction and a tummy tuck - following this; which will be V costly!!

So fingers crossed it works - once i get the hang of this site ill be posting my weekly weigh in results =) xox

Hi ya Kitten :kitty: I was wondering what the "IOM" stood for! tee hee hee

:welcome: to WW, I too was on Lipotrim (last year in fact) it was great to shed all the stones but it came back on so Im back to square one!

When you said you only lost 3.5lbs.. I was shocked  Thats brilliant weight loss. Remember WW is reteaching us how to eat sensibly and if we do induldge too much how to bring our focus back.

I find this forum brilliant for asking questions or when you need to rant... rant and rant some more :rant2: or if you make a boo boo we are all here to :copon: and get each other back on track so we can go:happy036:

Hi ya Kitten :kitty: I was wondering what the "IOM" stood for! tee hee hee

Hee hee, the IOM = the Isle of Man =)

Thank you for your kind words, from what I've heard now, i am actualy feeling quite positive about the weight i have lost, but is 3.5 lbs in 2 weeks really ok?

i guess the lady prev is right, that maybe i am just comparing to the crash diet results ive seen previously..

i go away 4 weeks on friday, and ill be made up if i can lose 2.5 lbs every week till then, that would mean in total i would have lost 16lbs - oh i so hope it happens!! xx

Yeah 3.5lbs is good for two weeks, remember we have to take into account, body is getting used to diet, excess water etc.... I think 2.5lbs should be reasonable but remember your weight loss may fluctuate from week to week so don't get too upset if that happens

Hiya Kitten. 3.5lb in 2 weeks sounds right on as they estimate about 1lb per week, so in actual fact you have lost more than the estimate! I'm around 15 stone 8 and hoping to lose about 5 stone so still a way to go but i have made a step in the right direction so hopefully i'll keep going.

Oooh right, well im glad youve told me that guys, or i would have ended up gettin upset if i had only lost a little bit!

Right now i weigh 11st 3.5 lbs, my absolutely ideal weight would be 7 stone, but if i get to 8 ill be happy...

my goal set by WW is 16lbs - 10%
then the next one will be 9stone - so if somehow iv lost 3.5 lbs this week, it will get me in the 10stone bracket which will be a huge boost to my determination.

i guess as a group we can all do it - well get there in the end, but will we ever be happy with ourselves - really? x

Yes kitten we came for the TT races and yes it rained quite a lot but we stayed on for a few days after the racing finished and saw the island when it was quiet, so glad we did!!

hiya kitten

welcome to minimins, im also new to ww this is my first week and i havent had a problem while being on it, fingers cross for my w/i on fri lol as it is my first

my b/f also was at thw TT last year and all it did was rain, he said he froze to death in his tent lol

hee hee you guys, the TT is always a bit hit and miss with the weather, for sunshine its best to come end of july early august.

I got my weigh in tomorrow, and i think i look like ive lost - i mean when i analysed myself in the mirror this morning i could see my waist and hips have changed - but this is why i get upset. i feel and believe i can see changes, but then the scales sat iv lost next to nothing =(

just keep going i suppose, but ill let you all know how my weigh in goes tomorrow!! xx

Hey Kitten how was the WI?

its tonight at 6pm...im not looking forward to it - although i have been so good and stuck to it well, i dont feel like i have lost anything this week =( will keep you posted tho!

whens ur WI's? x

hey kitten, im also relatively new to ww. minimins is great for info, support & keeping you on track! like yourself ive tried every diet under the sun, this is the only one that doesnt feel like a diet, i lost most of my weight through calorie counting (2stone) but hit a plateau & no matter what i did couldnt lose anymore weight. ww changed that, its more of a lifestyle change & is something you can do forever rather than some unrealistic diet that you get bored of! good luck :) xx
