i bought mix a mousse and even though i blend it with my shake in my food processor thingy (which makes the shakes super super smooth) whenever i make mixamousse it always has these little weird jelly lumps all the way through it, it makes me gag. is this normal?

Make sure you mix the shake powder with the mix a mousse before you add any water, then add the water a little at a time before giving it a really good whizz in the blender, works for me!!

You just need to blend and blend and blend (and blend and blend!) until they're gone - it always takes me ages to get them out. The setting agent in the mousse seems to work really quickly so you can't hang about - bash those lumps out! (I know you're using a food processor, but I find when hand-blending that it's better to just hold the blender in one place rather than plunge it up and down which is what I'd normally do - it doesn't seem to achieve much with a mousse.)

Good luck - a perfect mousse is worth the effort! :)

That might be where im going wrong then. I do mix the mousse with shake first then put in blender, which do plunge. Think I will try my electric whisk.

hmmm... off to make a banana mousse methinks!

Hugs x x x

Hey.
Hope your bananna mousse tastes good.
I am a mix a mousse lover.. I have had the lumps in it before and they are not nice.. As Jacey said keep blending for a while and you should be lump free.
Good luck and enjoy I love them x

Another mix a mousse fan here and to be honest they are hit and miss with me...........one day I get it perfect and the next they are lumpy......................still learning...lol...luv em though................x

I never managed to get this right, it always looked like an extra out of Dr Who when ever I made anything!!

Provided you mix the 2 powders together well before adding the water you will never ever ever get lumps of jelly in your mousse.
If you mix the powders before adding the water it takes a lot less time than having to stand there trying to blend them out.;)

i always mix powders together, and never have lumps. But they still turn out wrong  like a thick shake rather than bubbly as i expect a mousse to be.

You're either putting to much water in it (it's less than is in the shakes read the back of the MAM tub) or you're not putting it in the fridge for long enough. To be honest I stick mine in the freezer for 12 minutes (don't ask me why but I've found it's the best amount of time:D).

Mine was £4.50 also and it is well worth it just remember to mix it in the shake bag first....it includes a measure spoon...shake bag then add water and whizz till lump free and put in fridge for 10mins......yum.the choc mint tastes just like aero mint.my favourite...............x

I follow the recipie for 'the perfect mousse' in the recipies for food packs thread.I don't return it to the freezer but the ice cold water seems to help.
