I have arranged to meet my councillor after i have finished my exams which is three weeks before i go on holiday- i was going to leave starting until after my holiday but thourght it'd be nice to loose some pouds first.

So what i had to ask was regarding the medical consent. say i meet her on a monday will i be able to start the diet on tuesday or will i have to wait until i get medical consent thourgh?

Thank for your help :) xoxo

Yep, depends on your weight/BMI and which step you start on. Why not speak to her, and look at doing one of the higher steps first so you have control whilst away, as if you go into ketosis then want to eat when you are away will need to come up the steps first, and theres not really time (If you want to drink too this is the best option.)

So I'd explain that to her, start on a higher step, then when you get back you can drop down the steps and get stuck in to some serious weight loss. Plus you can enjoy your holiday having lost a few pounds first.

Hope that makes sense!

I had to get medical consent but was able to drop my form into the Drs for signing and started Sole Source in the meantime. My Dr had no problem signing it and didn't charge a fee - phew!

If everything is OK on the medical check you have to fill in (no diabetes mediction, bmi lower than 40 etc) I think it's just a formaity that the doctor is informed. From reading threads on here, most doctors seem supportive of very low cal diets when managed properly

I started SSing 3 weeks ago, and am currently revising for my 4 uni exams I have in a couple of weeks. I was worried it would ruin my concentration etc, but actually have had more concentration due to increased water in take.

As everyone else says, only need consent with a BMI over 40. Good luck for when you start!

Hi all, Hope you are all well.
Is it normal for the doctor to charge to sign the medical form?
I go to see my doctor on Tuesday and better take some money if I have to pay.
Thanks x

Thanks Jools. Keep up the good work and good luck xx

I had to have my doctors consent, due to medication I take, the doctor i saw was quite horrible about the diet but signed the form when i said i would do it no matter what. When i saw a different doctor a few weeks later she was all for the diet, so hence i have changed to seeing her now and not the other one. I didn't have to pay for my form to be signed which was good.

I went in for hayfever meds and pulled the form out last second and no probs.
If you need it signing you shouldnt be sold the products till you have the medical form signed by dr and your cdc otherwise your cdc is in some pretty serious breach of rules and law.
If you died and had not got it all signed correctly your cdc would not not be insured, would be responsible for your death and probably be charged with manslaughter.
Anyway sorry to lower the tone a bit, good luck on the diet :)
