have we got to refeed during holidays?

im not happy about the chemists idea of 'got to refeed for holidays' and then back onto it afterwards. now im back on track finally and getting my first weigh in again saturday. ive got a holiday in ten weeks time which im hoping would be lovely if id lost it all by then but i very much doubt it. can the chemist do this do u think and make me refeed when i might not want to??

The whole stop/starting thing is hard to do. If I were you I'd phone lipotrim and ask them direct. If they say you can still continue whilst away on hols then the chemist should give you enough supplies to last the holiday without insisting you refeed.

From all the stories on here chemist's opinions are all very different on this diet. The only opinions you can really rely on are those of LT themselves.

Come back and tells us after though as it would be interesting to hear LT's thoughts

Hi Harriett
As far as i know if you don't re-feed properly you will gain 8 or 9 possibly more pounds in the week as your glycogen levels re-fill so it is important to re-feed properly for hols and jump back on to Lipotrim when you get back.

Good luck x :)

sorry i didnt make myself clear :)

i meant he wants me to refeed during the holiday and then go back onto LT after the holiday and start again..i know how damn hard it is to restart and i dont think i want to have to do that lol

My pharmacist gives me a supply to last me for my hols. So I was given 2 weeks worth.

I don't see why any pharmacist should refuse and direct you to refeed for a holiday if you want to continue TFR during it.

Ask them why? If you really want to carry on on holiday and your pharmacist refuses, contact another pharmacist. They may be more flexible. Mine is.

i suppose changing is an option but ive already changed from my last chemist cause she had a bad attitude towards lt and felt it was very off putting.

have to see how much i lose between then and in ten weeks time i suppose

I think I would re-feedfor one week before you go away and just be a bit careful on holiday with alcohol especially and then back on LT when you get back.
I'm going to Barcelona 8th June and will re-feed week before.
Hope you can get sorted coz it is worrying thinking you may put weight back on and none of us wants to do that:cry:

If you want to continue with LT during your hols surely that's your decision and not your chemist's? I think if you tell them that you want to continue it through your hols it wont be a problem at all. Tell them how determined you are to carry on with it and don't want to risk a break in case you can't get back on it.

Good luck and I hope they let you carry on with it!

also the thing is im only going to falmouth in cornwall in a self catering flat so its not as if its totally uncontrollable and in a hotel or something and i can do what i like

i think ill see if i can do it through the holiday cause hopefully by that time i wont be too far away from completing lt anyway...

thanks guys for all your help

I would speak to your pharmacist again. If you stick at it for the next 8 weeks and lose each week, bring it back up then. Tell them you have shown you are committed to the diet and would like to keep it up while you are on hols.

There is no doubt about it, it is difficult to do Lipo on hols but then again determination is a wonderful thing. I've done it for a few weekends away in hotels (hard but achievable) even sat down to the dinner table with the others and nibbled on a flapjack.

I did it for a week too and was like a living demon:) but got through it.

See how it goes, don't worry about it for another 8 weeks or so. 2 weeks is plenty for refeed and I would defo recommend you do this before your holiday and not during if at all.

Its your decision honey to refeed during your holidays your chemist should be supporting you and congratulating you for wanting to do so!

They can stop you having LT for different reasons but im pretty damn sure for a holiday they dont really have a right!!

Did you want to buy two weeks worth did you?
My chemist lets me do this on bank holidays as the only day i can get there is a monday.

Theres so much difference between chemists, its silly!
Tell them no chick. Put your foot down, tell em its to darn hard to just stop and start again cuz THEY want you to!

Cheeky b******ds!!!!

My chemist has let me have 2 weeks worth but she did say they wern't supposed to so maybe its something they are told on their training?

my pharmacist seems lovely and really professional. it takes me an hour each way to get there so after my week 2 weigh in next week she said she is happy to give me 2 weeks at a time because of the inconvienience which im pleased about.

it seems stupid if your wanting to carry on for them to stop you!!

It never even occurred to me that this might be an issue. When I was going away in March I just said - I'm going away next week so I'll need 2 weeks supply today and they gave them to me .... just shows you doesn't it?? x

im not sure whether to mention it again to the chemist cause i really dont want to give up and have to refeed to start again in a couple weeks time..i know i wont be able to

now im into this again ive got to stick at it 100% or ill fail and how you feel about yourself in this is i think, pretty important!

he said oh i refed over christmas and started again jan 1 and completed losing weight afterwards and was pretty adamant that that was what i was going to have to do if i went away...

How odd - you'd think they'd be supportive of someone being so committed!
I think it's extremely unfair to presume you wouldn't want to stick to the LT 100% while you're away (as you say, it's not going to be hard when you're self catering).

My chemist gave me 2 weeks supply cos i was working away for 2 weeks - it's a shame there's not always consistency across the UK for LT dispensers....

I've got two long weekends away at music festivals for which I've decided to stick on LT 100% and not refeed (the temptation was there earlier on in my LT journey!). I've also made the decision that I'm not going on holiday until I've reached goal weight, because I don't want to stop/start and it's no big deal to put off a holiday for me.

Maybe you'll be so close to goal by then though that you'll be able to refeed before, or during holiday :) best of luck but try not to worry til the time comes.

Thats is ridicilous! (sorry for spelling)

If you want to stick to TFR whilst you are on holiday then you should be more than allowed to! it isnt his decision and personnaly I would tell him to shove his LT up is ****

Sorry this has annoyed me! the man clearly doesnt have a clue about how hard this diet really is and then being forced to stop could jeprodise (sorry spelling again :p) the whole bloody diet!

What a TURD!

Well that explains everything .... HE couldn't do it so doesn't think anyone else could and anyone who can would make him feel inadequate - I would DEFINITELY get onto LT about this.

Seriously - it's not up to anyone else to sabotage your efforts. God knows (if you're anything like me) we've been very good in the past at sabotaging ourselves - now we've found something we can do we simply can't allow anyone else to dictate the conditions - certainly not when it's not standard practice, which is obvious from everyones posts!!!!

Grrrrr!

Phew!
