I forgot to ask....

Do your CDC's advise you to eat protein on days when you excercise?

charlotte :)

Hey lottie, just thought i'd pop what my cdc has said to me on for ya.. i've been back in training at the gym for almost 3wks now and the losses have slowed down from 3.6lbs a week to 1.2lbs a week! So feeling a bit gutted about this after my wi this week my cdc suggested on my gym days to have a very small amount of carbs an hr or so before training as then it's there for my body to use as a preferred source of energy for cardio stuff rather than my body storing it due to starvation mode (if that makes any sense?!).. Not sure if this is going to help improve my losses again but as i really need to do some training (given the choice i'd just stick to no training and ss) for other reasons i thought it was worth a go. He just told me to be a bit careful of the carbs i choose that's all and not to go stupid with them! So time'll tell and see how the wi goes next week.. hope this helps but not sure how cosher the advice is! x

To be honest, it's fine for me when I go to the gym, I find the four packs a day do me fine. I'll just have one of those as a bar an hour or so before.

Claire, what are you doing at the gym? Cardio or resistance or a mixture of the two? Are you finding that while not losing many pounds you're losing inches? The only reason is that I'd really encourage you not to be discouraged just because you're probably gaining more muscle which obviously has a weight to it. So you'll probably find you're losing more than 1.5lbs of fat but maybe gaining a couple of pounds of muscle, but that your inches are coming down. I wouldn't worry about it, the muscle gain will plateau a bit weight wise. Unless you're going really mad!

interesting! my weigh in ahve slowed down, and I have uped my excerise, but I am still losing inches 8 all over in 2 weeks!!

I often feel lightheaded after, but as I am on ss+ 3 shakes and a meal I just make sure I have my 'meal' after the excerise

Not sure on the eating carbs thing lol!! maybe your right ;-) about strange lol

They recomend a higher plan if you want to exercise or do heavy work as you will be burning more carbs. Sounds like your cdc's advice was good, fact is more calories you will will have more energy and be able to work out longer/harder.
Its pretty normal to gain or not lose as much when you exercise as you build muscle and maybe retain water, however more muscle means more calories burnt and more calories required in the long term + will speed up your metabolism, not to mention the good it does to your heart.

I'm doing about 30-45mins cardio usually and then 30mins ish of weights.. going about 3-4 times a week. I certainly feel like i can do and go on further/longer with having a small amount of carbs beforehand. A few times i've had a few seedy crackers with my chicken salad ss+ meal and today i had one slice of that burgen soya and linseed bread toasted with a small can of WW baked beans on top, no marg. Did 45mins on the treadmill after i'd let it go down and then the usual weights. I guess weds wi will tell if the carbs this week have had a positive effect or not.. i'm hoping they have as getting fed up of sts now though i do understand the whole losing fat and gaining muscle which is what i hope has been happening as i'm still losing inches..
