Hi
What is the best bread to use where you are not using alot of syns up on bread as for 2 slices of a 400g loaf is 6.5 syns that is alot out of your 15 syns for day

Bread can be a healthy extra B-choice.

You can have two slices of a 400g wholemeal loaf as one HE-B, giving you up to 4 slices of bread a day if you want it. You need to make sure it's the small size 400g loaf though, not just a normal sized loaf in half the amount, if you see what I mean? I usually use Hovis or Warburtons.

If you want to use your HEBs for something else, then you will need to use syns on the bread.

Bread isn't a great food for a lot of people, hence why it's restricted. Over-eating, bloating, etc.
The fibre is good for you, which is why brown bread is a healthy extra, as it's higher in fibre.

Hope that helps?

I use the Hovis 400g bread, that way I can have a sandwich just using 1 HeB box. Whereas if I used the 800g bread I could only have 1 slice. It kind of tricks the mind too into think you're having more when your not...lol

Hi
Thanks im talking about bread on the extra easy plan with only having 1 A and 1 B if you have one for cereals and the other for milk you will have to syn the bread is this right

Yes, that is right. I just don't have bread as I don't think it's worth the syns - my healthy extra B is sultana bran (28g) + 1 ryvita - the ryvita does for my bread substitute!

I know it's tricky at the beginning, but you soon find alternatives to sandwiches!

Weight watchers brown danish bread is only 2 syns per slice.

The WW thick wholemeal is 3 syns each and the malted danish 2.5 syns each slice
