Waving Hello to Everyone...

Hi Everyone,

Just thought I would say hello.

I have spent the last hour reading loads of threads and this seems a much nicer place than some of the other "scary" places I have looked at. There apprears to be support here rather than "look at how good I am and how bad you are" which is on a lot of the other sites I have visited.

I have just started W8 and have my first weigh-in on Thursday morning.

Any advice on the W8 front would be appreciated..... especially regarding the headaches, the non-appearing ketosis, improving the shakes etc.

Thanks.
Mrs Z

I totally agree with that comment, Hi and welcome. :wavey:

Some of the "other" sites really scared me...... people were just saying hello and they were pounced on, their choice of diet ripped apart and every pitfall pointed out - rather harshly too.

I'm spending far too much time reading old threads and posts on here now when I should be working..... However, it is distracting me from all the loveliness in the fridge.

It is quite good though.

Welcome and good luck to you. We all need a bit of luck know and then.

Tell me about it, I was a user on an Atkins site whilst I was on Induction, they were very harsh indeed. Mind you some of it must have rubbed off, I'm a real Carb NAZI now. :)

Hello Mrs Z - I am new to this site too and reading all the different threads and posts has been so encouraging. I agree with your sentiments and now feel brave enough to start posting! This is such a fantastic resource and I'm sure everyone will help you through your new eating regime. :)

Hi carefulcounter, why don't you post your own hello thread then :)

Thanks to everyone.

I am looking forward to my first weigh-in tomorrow, I can't believe I actually said that, every other diet I have tried, I have dreaded the weigh-in but this time I feel really positive.

OOHHH, that'll be nice to post then. Good Luck!

Hi Everyone

I can't believe my first week results. My first weigh-in.

I must have got on the scales at least 4 or 5 times this morning and even had to get my husband to come and weigh a bag of sugar twice and then himself twice to make sure they were right.

In just the first week I have lost 15lbs - yes, Fifteen! I was secretly hoping for around 6 or 7 but can't quite believe it.

I hope everyone else is doing fantasticly well too - this is the first diet I have been able to stick to without just "popping" the extra bit of cheese in my mouth or just having another gin & tonic (as it does not matter becasue you can have a bit less tomorrow) this is so much easier. I think because my choices are taken away it's easier to stick to.

Did I mention I lost 15lbs............ :)

:wow: :wow: :bliss: :bliss: :worthy:

What can I say 1 stone 1 pound, you are melting away, fantastic love.!

I still can't believe it - I even checked the scales when I came home again just now - just incase I was wrong the previous 10 or 12 times.

ah, another scaleaholic! ;)

LOL, way back when I first started on Atkins I'd weigh myself obsessively several times a day, it's counter productive really as everyone gains some weight as the day progresses. I drove myself mad. :D

See - I have been good Jim. I let the whole of Friday and the whole of (well, most of) today pass without getting the scales back out. I have been tempted to though.

Your pics are fab. It's brilliant to see real people with real photo's rather than the magazine glossy ones of people we are never sure even really exist. You must be so proud of yourself - and with good reason.

(well, most of)
LMAO!

Thanks love, I am really chuffed with myself, but more importantly, I'm loving life now.
