Bars making me feel sick

Luci-De-Milo

is going to do this!
Hey.

I've had three bars (not in one day!), two were cranberry ones and the other a caramel bar.
The first cranberry bar made me feel sick, not because of the taste or anything, it just made my stomach queasy. The next time I had a cranberry bar, it was fine and I enjoyed it, I put the first bad experience down to not having eating anything solid for a while.
However, had my caramel bar a few hours ago and made me again feel quite sick, worse than before. Like I was really going to throw up (sorry to be graphic), I wasn't actually sick because I just drank loads of water but I easily could have been.
Anyway, I was just wondering why this might be? I'm fine with the porridge and shakes etc. I do tend to have quite a weak stomach, the smell of vodka due to one bad experience makes me feel as though I could be sick, I get really bad motion sickness and makes me easily sick etc (this is so unpleasant sorry).
I don't mind staying off the bars, I was just wondering why this might be, or if anyone else has had this?
Alternatively, am I just eating too sickly ones or something? I actually think it might actually be the soya chocolate making me feel ill, but I'm not sure, it could be the flavour, are the other bars perhaps less sickly? It's weird though because I have a really bad sweet tooth, so wouldn't have though it would be this.
Anyway, any ideas?

Try freezing the bars (not the cranberry) and cut them in half before. Have the halves at seperate times. They last longer and don't forget you have to drink an extra glass of water with the bars.

That's exactly what I did with this last one though, I put it in the fridge, cut it up into pieces and had it with a cup of tea. Felt absolutely awful, I still feel a little sick now. Obviously drunk loads of water since, even more so just to stop myself throwing up!

Oh well, silver lining is I suppose that I won't be having the bars anymore and avoiding a few extra calories in the weeks to come. Not too bad :p

It might be the rush of minerals and vitamins. Eat them slowly and drink lots of water. If you have a bar or tetra because they're so concentrated you need to try and drink a bit of extra water that day.

Ohh interesting, I hadn't thought of that! I'm fine with the tetras, it's these bars. After the first bad experience with the cranberry I ate them really slowly, so I don't know what I've been doing wrong. If anything I've drunk more water today than normal because I got a water flavouring for the first time.

It kind of felt like, say if you've just had a massive meal, really full up, couldn't eat a another thing, then you're forced to eat this absolutely huge rich chocolate cake, and it just makes you feel sick.. kind of that feeling? Not that I've ever been forced to do that, lol, but if you can imagine.

Call your CDC or email her and ask for advice in the morning. She'll know best hun.Sorry you're not feeling great. x

Cant do bars either, i dont like the texture or the taste of them, gutted, i waited what felt like a lifetime for them 2 weeks, then sheer dissapointment, were all so different in our likes and dislikes

Sorry to hear the bars are making you feel sick..
I didnt like the caramel one..
I just stick to chocolate and chocolate orange bars.
Perhaps try a different flavour.. or maybe the bars just dont agree with you hon x

I was the same when I had a bar - I ate it slowly, had the extra glass of water (and more) they recommend but 20 minutes later started feeling very sick and was incredibly sick for an hour - apart from morning sickness I think it's the only time I've been sick in 10 years so not good!

Oh I'm glad I'm not the only one then! Not that I'm glad you were sick, but you know what I mean lol.
I wonder why that is then? It's a shame cos the bars would be a nice variation but I think I'm just going to have to steer clear of them. :(

Ooohhh the orange bar tastes like toothpaste to me which is weird! But I love the toffee malt, caramel and cranberry. Haven't tried the chocolate one. It's a shame they don't agree with you as they're so handy when we're out and about. What does your CDC suggest? I'm gonna try the moose next week, nice to add something different so I'll try the chocolate bars too. have you tried all the bars yet?

Toothpaste lol! How random! I've only had the cranberry and caramel, and they are the more popular ones, so I'm not sure whether I want to try the others, I think I'll try some chocolate ones, maybe peanut and toffee, but I doubt I'll get on much better. I don't want to risk being sick cos I wouldn't know what to do then about my shakes etc, and it's a waste of money! lol

My CDc is having loads of problems with her supplier at the moment too, they ordered loads of the wrong stuff last week. Like second week, I had to have different porridge and shakes because of the supplier, got used to them in the second week and then this week again there were no chocolate shakes which are the only ones I reaally like, so it's all a bit annoying for me at the moment.

Hoping things get better. I'm suprised I haven't cracked yet being forced to have shakes I don't like!! lol xxx

Ahh sorry to hear you dont like the bars!! I dont think I could survive without mine!! ahha I loovvee the peanut one!!

Hope you get this sorted and are feeling better!

Le xx

Sorry to hear you're feeling sick with the bars. I've only tried the chocolate one (yuk!) and the orange one.

I have 2 orange bars a week and make them last for days (I have them on top of my 3 shakes/soups). I think after the soups they can be hard on your stomach (solid vitamin and minerals).

When I first ate a whole bar I sat on the loo for ages, a great laxative (if only I needed one at the time).

Try different bars and eat them slowly with lots of water.

Good luck
