Frustrated!!

Jubbly

Yo-yo dieter here for the gazillionth time
Can someone please explain to me how I can be 8 st 12 in the morning and then 9 st 6 at weigh in? It is very annoying. I am fed up - I don't really understand if I've reached target or not and now I want to revise my morning target weight to 8 st 10 to make up for the massive fluctuations in my weight and that sounds far too little. I lost the few pounds I put on at Christmas only to put them back on with a really excessive weekend. My CDC really panicked me going on about people putting it all back on so I am back on packs for lunch and dinner at the mo but I don't understand how her scales can show a whole 8lbs more than mine, even taking into account the different time of the day. My feet are freezing and my legs keep going numb. I currently seem to be pigging out at the weekends and then eating nothing and panicking in the week - not a very good maintenance plan!! D'ya reckon she's rigged her scales so I keep buying the stuff haha?? Which is the most accurate reading - the morning or the evening one??

Morning, in the noddie, after your first wee!! But two sets of scales can vary by HUGE amounts. Have you thought about going by the size clothes you are in?

A lot of the time I suggest to clients that as they get closer to where they want to be, they find an outfit that they love, and aim to stay in it comfortably. That removes the obsession with the scales, and makes it less dependent on what the numbers say :)

Hi
I have always found that you must just go by your weekly weigh on cdc scales only - my scales can weigh up to 1/2 stone different and my mate weighs 10lb less on her scales to her cdc every time !!! You will always weigh the least in the morning, starkers, but obviously our bodies vary greatly during the corse of a day - holding fluids, our clothing etc - I would advise you try and ignore your scales completely for the time being - I appreciate how hard it is to not jump on them all the time - but...................focus on your weekly weigh in - and just think that you are so close to where you want to be - you have worked so hard to get this far - the last leg is always the hardest, but you will get there. Just 1 more thing, I have found in the past that when I have had binge - yes we have all been there - you are definitely not alone in that one - the scales have not always been true for the first weigh in and in actual fact it has caught up with me the following week. All scary stuff I know - but I am sure you will regain your positive thoughts and be where you want to be in no time at all - but bin those scales at home !
Best of Luck
Thinking of you

Hi Jubbly

Really you are at goal I know 50lb is a nice round figure to have lost but as you have stuck at around the weight now for quite some time and have a lovely low BMI you should allow yourself to feel you have achieved your goal and start moving on. I have just done the same upped my goal weight to one I have achieved to allow myself to move on. Besides I picked the goal weight more because I liked the idea of being in the 10's rather than 11 stone.

I disagree that you should go by your CDC scales it is more accurate to weigh yourself in the morning naked after a pee. You need to know that your scales are accurate though so invest in some new ones if you aren't sure. You will not be going to your CDC for ever to rely on her to weigh anyway so will need to be used to weighing at home and being confident that this is your true weight.

I think you have done absolutely brilliantly wth CD but I think going back a stage on it and indulgng at the weekends and feeling bad about it is not a healthy way to be.

I have now moved on to Ediets Gi plan the food is fabulous and I'm 99% certain it is the way to go for me but I must admit that I have put on weight so far. Not because the diet is flawed but I think my body is getting used to the change of plan and all that eating again and the amount of exercise I am now doing. I have been having a few slumps in energy where I have reached for food. They are reducing now as I am getting more confident with eating again and I hope the weight will go back down agan.

I really think you should try to think of your weightloss as fully successful and complete and think of yourself as in maintenance now.

Hope the job is still going well and fulfilling.

What a sensible piece of advice Dizzy.

I have said this in a previous thread, your weight can fluctuate up to 4lbs in a day, and remember unless your scales are regularly calibrated they will not be that same as anyone elses.

Love DQ advice about forgetting the scales at the end and just staying comfy in an outfit of the right size

my scales are always 9lbs lighter than CDCs, but what does it matter since its all the same amount lossed in the end.
