Wise words from the OH

After going shopping, finding nothing and feeling fat and frumpy compared to all the young Spanish girls (big brown eyes, olive skin - my peely-wally tone doesn't really match), I was moaning on to He Who Thinks He's Boss about putting on weight last week and being scared about WI on Monday as I feel I've put on again and will never make target.

"But what's a target?" he replied. "It's just numbers. Far rather think about how much you've lost and how much healthier that's made you and then keep going. It doesn't matter how long it takes you, so long as you're losing weight."

And he's right (for once ;))

It's good to put it into perspective, isn't it? I know I (if I'm honest) do get slightly obsessive about my target! And your OH is right, we are defo v healthy what with all this fruit and veg - I've never eaten so healthily in my life! xx

totally agree and am happy to think like that-right until i step on the scale!!!

Have to completely agree with him. In a nutshell he has stated what we should all be thinking at these times. And you should never feel pressured to look like the young spanish girls as I'm betting there are lots of qualities they are envious about when it comes to you!

K xx

I agree too.. my oh often says such wise words and at times i have to ignore him and wait for my little strop to subside before i realise he actually can talk sence :p .. everyone feels shitty at times.. i spose it really is a matter of looking at achievments so far and staying positive! x

Target

I haven't set myself a target yet and I have lost 1st 10lbs. I am waiting until I think I am about 7lbs await from the figure I want. Meantime I've learnt alot from our consultant advising people that if you are finding it harder to lose weight then calling an interim target is a good idea. I've seen one lady recently do that and, maybe because the pressure was off, she started to lose weight again. Surely, SW is all about changing our attitude to food, enjoying a healthier way of eating and having more energy and regular exercise. :)
