Time to get serious

I have been doing red days and when I following SW correctly I do wonderfully. I actually lost 7 lbs. The problem is on the weekends I totally lose control and gain back 2-3lbs. I have really been struggling. I want to lose weight, but it seems like I keep sabotaging myself. I thought, well let me try a few green days and see if I can do a little better. I didn't lose any weight and to be honest I felt really bloated and uncomfortable. So that being said, red days are the days for me. BUT, why can't I just make up my mind to stick to it? During the week is not a problem. I have so much going on that I don't think about snacking really. I think part of the problem is my husband works nights (he's a police officer) and I rarely see him during the week. When he is home on the weekends I feel like it is time to catch up with him. We have some wine, nice dinners, breakfast out with the kids, etc. Any advice on how I can have a life on the weekends, but not totally blow it and have to start all over again on every Monday? By the way you ladies are fab and have such great ideas!!

If you're not using your syns too much in the week, you can probably save them up for the weekends.

I tend to go out for meals a fair bit, especially at the weekend and I just try and find meals that I really enjoy but are less synful than other options on the menu.

If you're staying in and having nice dinners, have you had a look at the SW website/magazine/books? There's some absolutely lovely recipes on there that are brilliant and either free or very low in syns - other (non SW) recipe books are good too if they are mostly cooking 'from scratch'. Nice doesn't have to mean fat!!!

Are you having loads of syns because you start a bottle of wine, for example, and can't stop, or just because you have lots of small things each with loads of syns?

I've found that my ability to stop eating something synful has got a lot better since I've been on SW - now I can leave half a bag of sweeties when before I'd eat the lot!
