Hi Folks

I could do with a bit of reasurance that CD ireally going to work. I swapped from Lt about ten days ago, had been on it for two weeks and the weight dropped off. However although I much prefer the CD diet, the weight loss has seriously slowed down. I haven't seen mt CDC since I signed up but will go for my weigh in tomorrow. According to my scales though I've only lost about three pounds which all things considrered is pretty poor. I feel quite bloated and am struggling to get the three shakes down every day as I have no interest in food. I'm also constipated despite loading my shakes with fibresure.

I feel fed up!!!!!!!!

Should weightloss slow down this much?

Are you allowed fibresure on cd?Maybe that's what's causing the bloating?CD definitely does work-just look at my ticker :)

Agree with Polish rose CD does work look at my ticker too. It probably is the fibre sure have a look at some of the threads on constipation and I think they give you a list of what you can and cant have I think youi can have dulcolax and senokot - But check tho.

Good luck for your weigh in tomorrow and hopefully you will go to the loo soon - if you are constiapted then that could account for some of the weight. I know I hadnt been for 5 days and I did this morning and I lost half a pound.

PLUS the qweight loss does slow down a bit and you have lost 21lbs in 2 weeks! thats beyond amazing it took me a month to lose that and we needed to lose roughly the same amount of weight when we started.

keep yr chin up it will work promise

I would highlight what the others say, even on LL there is no way at all your massive losses could be sustained!
Many people have two or three good losses at the start of CD / LL whilst the body purges retained fluid and empties glycogen stores, then some people have very small losses in comparrison.
Make sure you are only having what is allowed and your weight loss will resume!
Good luck and don't be disheartened...

I am fed up today too. Looking at my weight losses - they are absolutley c**p. I did not get weighed by CDC until I had been on the diet for about 5 days so dont know my starting weight. However, I did weight myself on my scales and I would estimate I lost about 4lb.

So, 4lb (myself), then 8.25lb then put 1/2lb on. Total loss in 27 days is 11 3/4lb. Not good enough for me I'm afraid. Even though I am not counting my own loss of 4lb and starting the date I got weighed by CDC I will still have only lost 7 3/4lb in 20 days. I am considering packing in.

Hiya mia you sound really disheartened... but CD averages 1 stone a month and you have lost nearly 12 of that stone in 3 weeks! That is spot on!
Sometimes we get disheartened as we see people losing 20 pounds in a couple of weeks but often these same people have a huge amount to lose... also remember that not everyones goal represents their ideal weight, some people use a temporary goal.. so it might seem they only have 3 stone to lose but they might have 10 stone to lose in reallity.

I think you are doing really well Mia.... You will most probably have lost your first stone plus a bit more by next week especially as you seemed to have retained some water last week.... (your measurements show you must have lost fat)
Think of Turkey!!! you are doing really fine!!

Thank you Tilly but 1" of that loss was from my thigh - my thigh for God's sake!!!! I have the skinniest arms and legs in the world, with a broad back and about 8 different bellies - and I lose an 1" from my thigh!

I feel as if a whole week was wasted last week with that gain. I am very very disheartened. Sick of my life being on hold, sick of not being able to go out, sick of being hungry - just fed up.

I know that Mia, but think back to why you started on the diet... you were fed up then too!!
Have a look at curly's losses she has had some weeks where she has only lost a couple of pound and yet she has amazing losses overall...
That slight gain must have been fluid.... and as such it will come off!!

As for skinny thighs... Thats maybe just how you are! I have a big huge tummy but the inches are coming off my hips and backside which now looks like a deflated football.. thing is... my tummy will catch up.... it doesn't matter whcih diet you do, the inches will come off where they decide first!!!
At least SS until your next weigh in so you can see if it really was a fluid gain.... otherwise you will always be wondering .. what if!! Also you should adjust your ticker to incorporate your true loss as you did lose that weight and psychologically your gremlins are using this to convince you that you are not doing as well as you are!
As for your life being on hold, only you can decide what to do about that, but there is stuff to do that doesnt involve eating!!
You can still go down the pub... I never drank before CD and I can assure you that drinking isn't the be all and end all of a goodnight... I always had a whale of a time and so I still can do that even on ss... Ok we can't go out for a meal, but it's that that got us here in the first place..... in our lives this short journey is just a snap shot of time.... when you look back i bet the last 20 days have gone quickly, just as the next three weeks will go quickly...
Stick with it.... i am convinced that week three is one of the most difficult weeks for people and would be interested to hear from CDC's if a lot of people give up around this point...
Come on Mia, you can do it!!!

Hey Linny loo,
I have recently switched over from LT too after doing it for 5 weeks with great losses. The formulas are quite different. I decided to give it a couple of weeks before I judge it. I feel the loss has slowed a little too but im loving the variety arent you? Be careful not to set your goals too high. We all want to be at target "yesterday" If you are doing SS 100% Im sure you will lose a stone a month. That is what LT promise, that is also what CD promises. Dont give in yet. give yourself time to adjust and enjoy the flavours;) And BTW, 3 lbs is a great loss. It fluctuates on LT too!!! As for constipation, I stopped the fiber sure on LT, it was binding me too much. I use one Ducolax and it really helps loads.

Thanks Tilly. I know you are talking sense, maybe I am just comparing my losses last time to this time. I didn't do my ticker like that incase it looked like I was 'cheating' because it was different scales, different time etc. but maybe you are right, if I look at the 12lb it might keep me going. I wish I could live on 3 mix-a-mousses a day (2 would do actually) then this diet would be easy peasy for me coz I love it. Thanks again

Then why not have two mixmousses is that not allowed?? as long as you compensate with extra water?
As for cheating, this is YOUR journey Mia you have lost the weight your ticker is for your reference as well as inspiring others!

(apologies linyloo for hijacking your thread)x
