Feeling a bit depressed - I seem to have gained!

Hi everyone,

It's only my second week on SW and I've stuck to it 100%.... plenty of free foods, not so many syns as last week, got all my Hex's in where I didn't last week.... and my Wii fit seems to think I am now actually about a quarter of a lb HEAVIER than I was first thing Monday morning...

Is that possible? It's not TOTM, I don't think I'm retaining water, I've eaten less junk too!

The only thing other than the things above that I've done differently is I have eaten a bit more and I haven't done any EE days, only green, where last week I had a bit more of a mix.

Any ideas why I might gain if sticking to it properly? Can't be doing a diet that I gain weight on rather than lose!

It's not much, and everyone's weight fluctuates a bit. You might be surprised when you go to your WI.

On the SAS log on the website, one of the things is 'constant weighing' (as mentioned by one of the other members here). Step away from the scales, stick to the plan, and what will be, will be. Weigh in on your day only, and deal with what those scales say then!

Sometimes people STS one week and lose loads the next - you need to try and focus on weight losses on a monthly basis or so - not weekly as it's hard to get overall results.

Good luck - when is your weigh in?

I no what you mean hun, my mum done sw lost 3.5 one week and for the next 6 weeks she gained so she had to go back and do ww.
I no they say we shouldnt wi but we cant help it can we. I no my wii makes me weight heavier then my sw scales anyway.

Thanks hun - I used to be on CD and I lost as much as a lb or 2 per day sometimes so got into the habit of weighing daily (CDC encouraged it for motivation as you lose so fast).

This is the first time I have done any form of weighing myself in between WI's in the whole 2 weeks I've been on SW so I think I've actually done pretty well - it was only because I was playing on the wii fit that I thought I'd see what it said. I certainly am not guilty of "constant weighing". Thanks for your concern though.

I could handle a small loss or a STS but not a gain, which I'm worried about, as I really want to get into the 11's this week!!

Of course I shall stick with it and hope for the best on Monday

Try not to weigh as i am like you when i was on CD i was seeing the scales go down each day. But this worn happen on this type of diet.
Try and stay with it for Monday wi x

Yeah Gem, I did SW for 2 weeks when I was 15 and didn't lose anything... hmmm!

I'm giving this a proper go though and am giving it a further 2 weeks to see what happens. I'm working away for 5 weeks at a residential training centre from May 20th, so if by that point I haven't lost much (I've set a target of 7lbs), I will do CD for the month that I'm away - as that way I don't have to worry about what I'm going to eat (as I'll be at a hotel) and can't get obsessive about it either - as there won't be any scales at the hotel!! As I so want to be slim for summer, a month of CD would take me to target, so that's a last resort.

But for now, will stick to SW religiously and hope for the best xxx

I've just looked at how much you've already lost and how much you have left to lose - it's not going to be easy at this stage (or quick) to get the final few pounds off in my opinion. I know you've got a big date coming up to aim for, but try not to rush it - it's better for your body to do it at it's own pace.

I couldn't do CD as I don't like it, don't think it's partiularly healthy and I've seen too many people put the weight back on. Keep the motivation going on SW and you will get results, just maybe not what you're used to.

Don't give up! :) I weighed myself a few times over the course of a day once, my weight went up and down by 3lbs!

Weight does fluctuate a great deal which is why the weighing once at the same time on the same scales is so important.

Take care :)

My old personal trainer always told me never to weigh myself on an exercise day as your muscles expand when you exercise, so that might account for the slight gain.
