Alton Towers

Just got back from Alton Towers, initially I was extremely worried as despite losing over 4 stone i was concerned I wouldn't fit on the rides.

However no need to worry because I did!! All the major coasters were fine, this was a big deal for me because I'm a massive fan of theme parks and because of my size haven't been able to go for years.

I mean this is it, this is really it, I'm actually getting my life back and I'm starting to live again, like a (dare I say it) a normal person. It's what it's all about and it's all thanks to Lighter Life. I will be eternally grateful for the programme.

I'm writing for two reasons, first because I want to share my happiness with you all and second, I want to give a heads up for any person who is contemplating going to a theme park but is unsure due to their size.

I'm still a very big bloke, 20st and a half give or take a few pounds with a chest measurement of 52". All the major rides have the bigger seats which accommodate a chest size of 54" so I was fine. The only one where I needed a bit of persuasion was Rita (not a person, the ride) but I still got in ok.

Very, very happy indeed!!

You better believe it baby!!

Really great you've had such a good day & isn't it an eye-opener being able to join in with these sorts of things that others take for granted.

Great motivation for continues losses (not that you need it).

glad you had a good day!
i love it there!

like Sean, this paragraph really struck a chord. It is as if I wrote it myself, and probably Sean as well.

Everyday, EVERY DAY, I have a moment wher I get physically choked up, when i realise what i had done, and what I have as a result - and that is just whjat you said: my life back.

it is a wonderful wonderful thing.

Glad you had a great time BB!! You deserve it!!! :)

xx

Well done BB - I feel like that as well - this is it this time & I have only just begun !
Alton Towers sounds fab - cant wait to go one day.

Great to hear you had such a good day BB, it really is amazing how losing some weight provides so much more opporunity in our lives isn't it? Not least because we get the confidence to do those things!

I too love theme parks and am planning on doing a series of trips during the summer holidays, Alton Towers, Thope Park and Drayton Manor :)

Well done you deserve to be so pleased.
I haven't been to AT for some time after a friend of mine and I sat side by side in one of the smaller rides. Unfortunately we did get a tad wedged in, her large butt and my large belly took up rather too much room. Fortunately we both found it funny and it gave others something extra to smile about too.
Will go back soon. (This time with my very slim partner)
Well done again I feel more confident about going this time.

Thanks for posting! I was worrying about this and googled and found your post here, I'm over in the Cambridge Diet section! I've got a chest size of 44" so I should be absolutely fine then! :D

yeah you'll be fine! looking at your current dimensions (ooer) you'll have a great time!

Hahaha that sounded quite wrong, but thanks!

hence the ooer!!!! seriously, you'll have a great time and thats the reason why i posted that, for other people who were apprehensive about going.

Yup, I figured! Well thanks for sharing, was definitely helpful, at least I know I'll be able to enjoy my birthday and not worry about it! I didn't at all until someone said they didn't fit, so I got worried but turns out I've never been too big, but nice to know!
