Hi,

I plan on using this to keep track of my 2st weight loss target by logging what i'm eating, how much excercise i'm doing and keep track of my state of mind and what i'm thinking and if i'm struggling. The idea being if I end up hitting a slowdown, I can track through here where I need to cut down various aspects of my diet.

BREAKFAST
3 x Weetabix (297 kcal)
½ pt Semi Skimmed Milk (150 kcal)

LUNCH
1 x Can Heinz Minted Lamb Hotpot Soup (232 kcal)

DINNER
Home Made Healthy Chicken Tikka Masala (283 kcal)
150g Penne Pasta (weighed when dry) (550 kcal)

TOTAL CALORIES - 1511 kcal

EXCERCISE
28 minutes Jogging over 3.1 miles - Estimated Calories burned - 463 kcal

So first day down, I found it relatively pain free. Food wise I was very good, but seeing the amount of calories consumed by the amount of pasta I ate was a bit of a shocker. It looks like If I can control my portions a little better I can knock a couple of hundred more calories off. I'm the same with rice - I always eat more than I should Naughty carbs!

We normally have a sandwich man come round at 11 o clock every day, and for the last year I have religiously had a kit kat off him and devoured it. I was exceptionally good at resisting him yesterday!

Lunch was uneventful with a tin of Heinz soup but it was tasty enough. Bit bored of that one though think I'll mix it up next week after I have my last can today.

One of the girls at work bought pastries in yesterday afternoon too. Despite them all knowing I'm trying my hardest to shift the pounds tey still insisted on taunting them in front of me!! Good job I'm focussed (Day 1 after all, i'm not disillusioned with it it all yet!)

Went for a run right after work. My jogging partner was unavailable today so ran on my own. Doing the couch to 5 k program (I'd recommend it to ANYONE - I went from totally unfit to running 3 miles in 8 weeks) Halfway through week 8 and the intention was to run for 28 minutes. I am however fighting a chest infection and have a groin strain, but despite these hurdles I struggled through it and managed about 3.1 miles which i was impressed with. An online calculator worked out that equates to 463 calories, which is not too shabby at all!

Dinner came along. Now, living on my own I tend to cook in bulk and portion off food in take away containers and freeze it. it makes it easier to cook later, cheaper, and enables me to control how much I eat. I normally do Chilli, Bolognese and Tikka Masala (All healthy with lean meat etc). I put the pasta on for what I assumed was a bolognese and put the frozen bol into the mic for 5 minutes. When it beeped and I went to stir it it turned out to be Tikka masala! So i had Pasta Tikka Masala. Not what I intended, but a good combo nonetheless! :D

Now thursday is usually a big drinking day for me. I can go out and knock back 10 pints of lager on a thursday. Thats nearly 3000 calories worth! Last night, I drank diet coke all night. At less than 1 calorie a pint, it was negligible and meant all the hard work i put into the run wasn't in vain.

Today my Chest infection has flared up - need to see the doc and get some antibiotics but I'm not letting it get to me. I'm going to shift this last bit of weight regardless of ANYTHING.
