Getting back onto rtm?

SerenityValley

Surgically happy.
Ok, I didn't see this coming - never crossed my mind - but having had my op, I haven't had the will to even try to do rtm.

I've eaten what I want (not massive amounts - still somewhere about 1000 cals a day = but it's beeen week 11 and week 12 stuff...

In a few days when I have the ability to stand and cook again, I'll go back to rtm - but will it be hard?

I know it's a piss poor excuse but I'm not able to shop, to cook, to do dishes, so I'm just wating what is in the freezer and using mostly microwaveable stuff.

The other option is seeing if I can skip weeks 6 and 7 and go to 8, if there's a risk of me falling off the wagon completely but will discuss with LLC

Hi Andy

Nice to see you back and so happy to know everything went well.

I don;t know about your situation, best you discuss with your LLC. Recovering from an op is draining, so I can certainly understand not having the "ooomph" to cope really. Best you speak to your LLC for advise, unless others here have been through an op while on the plan.

Now you take care of yourself....and get well soon!
xx

The main thing is that you had your op andare on the road to recovery. Knowing what you have been through to grt this far I'm sure you'll be able to pick up RTM when the time is right for you.

I've finished with rtm, for a variety of reasons (financial problems being just one). I'm now going to take a step back and work out what to do to proceed from here. I've left rtm about 4 or 5 weeks early, but I need to take some of the principle back to the beginning. So I've taken myself back to two meals a day, and going mostly veggie. I have some LL bars, if I absolutely need to have one a day for a week (and I have lots of their porridge which could form my breakfast for 2 or 3 weeks).

I've put on somewhere around 6.5lbs in 2 weeks - largely because of really bad eating while I recovered from surgery, followed by kidding myself that it was ok to keep on eating that way till I go back to work, because I'll be exercising then. I've no idea how much of that weight is fat and how much is glycogen - hopefully less of the former and more of the latter. But either way, I'm having to get a grip of myself.

I go back to work tomorrow but as of today, I'm on a "new" diet. I'm trying to keep my food spending to under £50 a month, for the rest of the year, which will help me cut out almst all of the rubbish. It works out at something like £1.70 a day for food, so spending £4 on a kebab or £10 on a pizza - not going to happen.

Not going to beat myself up about it - just going to step forward, take control and really hit the exercise (well as best I can - still need to be careful not to overdo it).

I have few targets in mind - I think I have about 21lbs to lose, but 14 or so of those I just want to trade for muscle. I'm just going to work on controlling my eating as I did for the first 6 weeks of eating after the diet, on becoming healthy, and watching the bank balance grow!

Andy - I know you have the strength and determination to ensure that all your effort to get this far will not be wasted. You will succeed in whatever you do. LL has opened the doors and now you are off on your own journey.

All the best, but do keep in touch and let us know how you're going on. And do let us have some pictures from time to time. xx
