A bit disheartened...

Hi All,

I had my week one wi on monday and was down 8lbs great yes, but... I think it was really only six as I weighed in with my cdc on a bank holiday monday after a weekend of eating and drinking AND had had a big dinner before I went. Basically what I am trying to say is that on my scales from the morning I started to wi was 6 pounds. (sorry about the ramble) Anyway I have done lipotrim twice before and always had much bigger losses.

I was reading away at the older posts last night and there were lots of people saying that they still eat chewing gum, and driving home last night I had such a furry mouth that I eat a piece of suger free gum :( Now I am afraid that I am out of bloody ketosis...

Sorry for the moan but I suppose I am just a bit disheartened at the weight loss as opposed to LT. I am 100% and am planning on being 100% for the newxt 12 weeks.

I need to just stay on the 100% forum and not even look at the other ones!!

I only lost 7lbs in my first week of CD this time round. It is a bit disheartening, but hang in there and it will get better! xx
 
sugar free gum is ok, it won't knock you out of ketosis as far as i know, it never has me and i chew it like a demon. but it may make you feel hungrier.

6lbs is fab!! well done! don't be disheartened.
 
I only lost 4lb on my first week of CD, then 5lb the following 2 weeks.
 
i think it does also depend on how much you have to lose as well.

I asked the question about chewing gum the other day because I can't stop myself picking when i'm feeding my daughter (she's 10 months old) and thought if I was chewing gum then it would prevent me putting the odd bit of bread or whatever in my mouth that she wasn't going to finish.

KD answered and said it's actually ok to eat gum and it won't kick you out of ketosis, the only reason why they discourage it is because chewing gum can make some people hungry and more likely to pick at other things falling off the wagon that way. So don't worry :)

I think 8 lbs is a fantastic loss in your first week!... theres not many diets that you can lose that in 1 week..

Im not sure about the gum but I would say it definatley wouldnt take you out of ketosis.

Thanks for all the replies girls! I am in much better form today, I just have to stop scale hopping twice a bloody and I will be fine!!

I am NOT weighing myself until sunday...or maybe saturday...:p
 
I'm glad you're feeling more positive now :D 8lbs (or even 6lbs) is fantastic! If you go to the supermarket and look at what 8lbs of lard looks like you will get an idea as to how much has come off your body in just 7 days! Or pick up 8lbs of sugar and carry it around in a basket...you will see that it is a lot.

I completely understand wanting to lose as much as humanly possible as fast as possible though, if there was a diet that would make me lost a stone a week I would do it! lol

But please don't beat yourself up because you have done so well.

The way I see it, even if I only lose 2-3lbs a week, the main thing is that it will be pretty consistent. When I have done SW or WW in the past I might have lost 5lbs one week but then the next I might put on, or stay the same.

I think that this is the best diet I know of for chipping away at the weight week in, week out and still getting good amounts off each time.

Good luck with staying off the scales, I can't help myself and weight every morning which is bad! lol

8lbs is a bloody fab loss, well done onthat. I only lost 5.5lbs in my wk1...but rem a loss is a loss. Slow and steady it will all be soon gone. Cheer up. x
