New and needing some motivation/Inspiration....

Beware, I am a rambler so this could get long!

I used to be of average weight (i.e on the slimmer side) until the age of about 15, then because of puberty etc. I went up to about 10 stone (140lbs), I never ate any more or exercised less but the weight appeared over night and I haven't been able to shift it since. I tried diets and various forms of exercise and it never shifted. Cut to 8 years later and I hit my highest weight of 173lbs and just knew I had to do something about it before it really got out of hand!

I live in London usually, but last September moved to Florida for the year to do an internship in hotel management and it seems to have been the kick up the butt I needed to start losing weight. I'm away from all my old haunts, my old bad habits of big pub lunches and huge desserts and the nice weather definitely helps in getting out and about. The apartment I moved to has a gym just down the stairs and the nearest shop is a good twenty five minute walk away, plus I don't like a lot of American food so that helps.

Through going to the gym a few times a week and eating less I have managed to lose 18 lbs so far without too much thought or effort but now it seems to be slowing right down and my motivation is slipping as the dinner invitations are coming often and American portions aren't exactly small. I really want to get down to 130, it's like my dream, goal weight. I haven't worn a dress or skirt since I was about 14 years old and would absolutely love to wear a dress for my 25th birthday. It's really starting to get me down now, I'm not fat but i'm not thin and this limbo is depressing me. I carry most of my weight on my lower half and it seems like no amount of hours on the treadmill or bike is helping....

I'm gonna shut up now! Basically, I hope I can frequent the boards and get the motivation and inspiration and support needed to continue and to get to my goal weight and stay there! If you made it this far, thanks for listening! :D
