Lipotrim Restarter

Hi all!
I'm trying to stick to Lipotrim - and failing miserably:( Every morning I have my shake and promise myself I'll stick to it and every lunchtime I eat my way back to square one. I'm miserable!!

Just found this site and I've been reading all of your encouraging stories.
I used to pop in and leave messages on the Discovery Home & Health site but I went to Ibiza last summer for a wonderful holiday and have been on the slippery slope ever since.

It's so embarrassing and frustrating to get this far (3st Loss, from size 26 to size 16) and stall!!!

I started a new job in august 2006 and it's a small office with lovely people, but the work is so high impact, desk bound & go, go, go that by lunchtime I'm starving and all of my good intentions go out the window!

I'm desperate to know if any of you have managed to drag yourselves back on track? I put on at least 5lbs over christmas - too chicken to face my pharmacist and another weigh in- and my lovely new size 16 clothes are getting tight!!!

HELP!! what do I do? tried setting a date to start and that failed too.

Any advice and help ladies & Gents?

Hi Beverley
I'm on CD - but similar story to you ......... lost 4stone went from size 20/22 to size 12/14. Through my own fault I regained 2 stone and gone up to size 16. I've restarted numerous times - and feel I've failed myself etc. But I want to be slim again, for summer and my size 12/14 summer clothes in my wardrobe.

So on 19th February (after my OH and dad's birthdays!) I restart CD SS PROPERLY!!!

Sorry no real advice - but totally empathy!

Hi Beverley75,

Congratulations on your weight loss!!!

3 stone weight loss is fantastic and to only of gained 5lbs. over Christmas deserves a medal!!!

You know already that it takes a few days to get back into ketosis and then the diet becomes so much easier.

Perhaps if you keep the carbs low and introduce a couple of milkshakes, whilst at the same time increasing your water intake and then work your way back into SSing I have done this and it works much better than going cold turkey as you get into ketosis much quicker and without the carb withdrawal.

Write down a list of goals you want to achieve as this will help to activate your motivation again and if your size 16 are getting tight it is time to pull back as it is so easy to go back into bigger sizes:eek: I went out of my size 16 jeans and I am kicking myself.

You could also think of doing a diary to help you keep your focus and track of how your getting on.

Look at this phase as Part 2 of your weight loss journey.

Do your before photos and measure yourself from head to toe not forgetting upper arms.

And take it one day at a time and set yourself a mini goal so that when you achieve it you will feel you are getting somewhere. Mini goals help as you do not feel so overwhelmed.

It is lovely to know you have done so well and maintained.

I'm a Restarter too

Hello Beverley,
I am a restarter too, and on lipotrim. I began again 5 days ago.

I am very impressed with your initial weight loss! Fantastic!

I lost 2 stone last year, but put on 7lbs over and since Christmas. That's why I have gone back. My 'goal' is another stone. So with my extra 7lbs I will have lost 2stone 7lb taking me down to 12stone 7lbs. I'm 5'10" so I'll be happy at that weight. So will my doctor, which is where I'm getting the lipotrim through. I too felt dreadful going back to him, but he was pleased I had gone back before too much damage was done.

I had a break last year for a month (holidays and stuff)and getting back on it was horrendous, I only stuck it for 3 weeks, just couldn't do it. Looking back I shouldn't have had that break. This time I have realy surprised at my self. It's still a slog, but I'm feeling positive and determined to keep it up until that stone is gone. Cooking in the evenings is the worst time for me. I have a big birthday coming at the end of March (one with a 0 at the end!) and I am very determined to be my chosen weight by then. Maybe, like Mini suggested, you should give yourself small goals, mine is my birthday. The first time it was 1 stone in a month. (Lost it in 3 weeks!) We know it works don't we, and it won't for the rest of our lives (hopefully? ) will it?

Good luck, and you know can do it so stick at it girl!!

Hi Beverley,

All the girls have given you great advice and I would just add this. You will succeed if you really want to. There are some measures you can take (Mini's advice), to make getting into ketosis a bit easier. However, you eventually have to face the demon. For restarters it is always that bit harder.

The thing is we're talking about 3 days of hunger and a bit of discomfort. You can take a painkiller for the rotten headache. The hunger will pass. Try to keep focused on the day when the hunger will disappear, because it will. Then you can look forward to seeing the pounds disappear.

You do need to be very motivated to stick to a vlcd, but you have done it before and if this is the right method for you and the best way, what are you waiting for?

Incidentally, I have been trying and failing all through January to get into ketosis, but I finally did it last week and am now on the final furlong.

Setting a limit for yourself can be a good thing. I told myself that if I couldn't get into ketosis by February I would give it up until the weather became warmer.

So every weekend I failed and I started again on Monday. Finally when the scales made that giant leap from 11st to 10st 13, made it all worthwhile. I still had a little slip this weekend gone, but I'm definitely back on track now weighing in at 10st 12lbs.

Wow! Where to begin?
Thank you all so much for getting back to me!
I'm at work and taking a quick break to write this, but you know what? I'm going to start from tomorrow - I think the light carbs and slow build up may be too much for me ( I seem to have eaten my willpower!!) ... but from tomorrow I'll wake up & have my shake and if I feel hungry I'll come on here for a quick read and pick-me-up to get me through until lunch.

I suppose as my 'little' goal I can use my friends' wedding on the 17th March. It would be lovely to be able to wear a classy size 14 dress. I might even be brave enough to stick a picture on here if I manage to reach that target!

Hi Anne-Marie,

Hope are you getting on with day 5?

I'm only just finding my way around this site (think I need to go home tonight and spend a few hours figuring out how it all works on here!)

Well done for sticking so far - you know you'll be seeing results soon so hang in there! I'm pushing for a different (smaller!!!) dress size for March too, so fingers crossed that tomorrow is a new day for me!

Good luck and let me know how you get on!

Marylyn,

Well Done on getting over the ketosis hurdle. Now that i really think about it, I think that I'm dreading the 4 days of misery that I went through last time to get into ketosis. But as you know, once your in it, a vlcd becomes so much easier to handle (with lots and lost of water!).

Seriously though, well done you for hanging in there!

Hi Beverley, welcome back to minimins, I had a bad week last week, picking here and there. But Im back on track since sunday...so we have to get our heads round to the fact we are not really hungry....its a habit we have got into.

Good luck anyway...if it wasnt for this site I would have caved inages ago.

Stay with it Bev and you will be looking great and could well be down 2 size in March.

Anne-Marie was looking for you to see how you were getting on, she posted in the Lipotrim forum before she went to work.:)

Welcome back to LT Bev, Hope you've survived your second day without too much craving.:)

Hi Mini,

Thanks for the 'heads-up' - I left a message for Anne-Marie yesterday.

Does anyone know how I can start a diary thread? I know it sounds like a dumb question - but it takes me ages to even navigate back to this thread!

Day one was easy and felt GREAT. Day 2 (today) not so hot.

Feeling a bit fed up - my size 16, dependable wear often & anywhere jeans are feeling tighter! I really can't go back to square one (18st 6lbs). The fight is on! I can't give up now!

Hi Trina,
feeling a bit rubbish today.

Woke up & saw the snow - which I love! I was quite impressed with the amount of snow we got in London..... until it took me two hours to get into work! Got in cold, wet and miserable and all I could think was "I'm hungry". Managed to talk myself out it by realising I wasn't hungry, I was 'cold, wet and miserable'. Lucky save but I think I'm not drinking enough water. It seems really hard to drink at least two litres (like to try and drink them before 6pm or I'll be up all night going to the loo!) when it's this cold and that may be defeating me!
