Hi grootseun2,

From reading your message, you sound very depressed. :(

The one good thing I took from your message is that you have managed to maintain your current weight for about a year now. That is a very positive thing and you should be proud of that! :D

You have obviously gotten to the point where it's make or break. So you have decided to make the effort and lose the weight once and for all! Now, you have to figure out how to do it!

You will need to find a diet that will suit your lifestyle. A lot of diets fail because they do not suit people's lifestyles and the "I can't be bothered" factor creeps in. There are many diets mentioned on this site. Have you managed to have a look at the individual forums? You might see something that you like or want to try.

Personally I am doing Exante with a low carb meal in the evening. I replace breakfast and lunch during the day with their soups / shakes / bars and then have a low carb meal in the evening. I really like this diet because I am never hungry. And I like the fact that I don't need to think about what to eat for breakfast and lunch.

I have tried WW and SW and RC and they never worked for me because I had too much choice! On WW, I'd eat something I wasn't supposed to and think to myself that I would make it up later (but never would) so I ended up gaining weight instead!

There are many people on the Cambridge diet who have lost a lot of weight on this site. Maybe that might be an option?

I really hope you find something suitable and lose the weight! Remember you will have to be in it for the long haul otherwise you will forever be stuck in the stop/start cycle.

Feel free to shout if you need anything at all. We'll always be here! :D
