Choclate pancake experiment - Fail :-(

After watching Nigella express the other day, thought maybe some chocolate pancakes might make a change from the shakes, I was wrong it was horrible, horrible, mixed it with some warm water and spooned some into a non stick pan,
I thought it was going well and then, time came to turn over would be pancakes and it fell apart, burnt yet uncooked as the mixture oozed out everywhere, back to the shakes for now.

Off to think up some possible new recipes/experiments...

Oh dear...well done for trying though. You are braver than me...lol I cant bear the thought of wasting a pack if it all goes wrong...ha ha ha
xx

Thankx, will definetly think it through better next time luckily I only used 1 pack and had another left.

You really should take into account when you are playing with your packs that they are a balanced source of nutrition to fuel your body whilst you are doing this and you can destroy what goodness they have in them. Microwaving is the worst.

This is fine if you are still of a mind set that you NEED food and MUST have something that you have been familiar with, burgers, crisps and now pancakes(!).

I'd advise you get your head in the right place, you are only here for a short time, stop destroying the few bits of goodness you are getting from your daily intake and take up a hobby instead. :D

i have to agree with ft on this one

i love LL cos it gets me away from food

(the only exception i have is to microwave the lemon bar occasionally as it tastes gorgeous when 'cooked' and disgusting when 'raw')

Sorry but I've never tried to 'simulate' f##d with the packs and think it's unhelpful.

As Daisy says if you still feel the emotional 'need' then fine, but my advice would be to try & resist the urge as part of the learning process abstinence forces you through.

Hi JKC, Interesting post.Such a shame it was a disaster .If you are intent in "cooking" ask your LLC for the recipe sheets or look on the recipe bit above, and remember you can only cook once a day.I must admit I haven't bothered ,as I agree with the others that it simulates food and preparation, cooking etc.If I do evenually do it I would wait until I'm much further down the line :D.However its your choice what you do- just bear in mind the advice on here x

My experience of cooking was quite miserable - the 'crisps' and 'chocolate bar' just taste awful. I'm abstaining until I can have the real thing when I'm at target weight. Each to their own tho! x

Whoah FT! Remind me never to get on your wrong side!! :giggle:

I do agree completely though - I never felt the need to 'cook' my packs - for one reason, I'm sure they taste quite bleugh cooked, and it would definitely go against the trade descriptions to call them muffins, or crisps I positive! :p

I also enjoyed the time away from 'f**d' and realising I could so cope with LL and food free months with ease.

I would urge you to just use them straight and enjoy the packs for what they are - FT is quite right, the time on the diet is so short and you'll learn a lot from f**d absintence - good luck.

I'm with the majority on this one. I love LL because I don't have to think about foods - especially trigger foods such as muffins, crisps and pancakes!

I am learning that I can live without them and walk past those aisles in the supermarket. I believe this is a really important part of the process for me.

I'm intrigued as to how you happen to have a spare pack? You should have none over at the end of a week.

Good luck with your journey ;).

Thanks for all the advice everyone, I assure you I am in no way preoccupied with using the packs to simulate real food, I just couldn't face another shake at the time.

That was the first time I tried cooking a pack and the last too
, the only one that I can stand hot is the porridge, so the freezer is stocked with ice, and the blender has taken up residence on the kitchen counter.

i'm so sick of washing my blender and smashing ice cubes - i still manage to soak myself most times when crushing the ice!

still, i couldn't drink them without the ice, they are so nice when made up

When I was on abstinence i just had the packs straight, didn't try to imagine them as "food" just a vehicle to give me the
nutrients I needed to get and stay healthy.
Eventually it became liberating and I switched off from food in my mind all together. I never believed it was possible
beforehand. My whole life and identity had previously been linked with food.
I will always love it but I have a more
balanced relationship with it now, thank God and LL.
I hope it works like that for you too.

Oh I am just the same, I can't make the shakes without ice, and as for cleaning that blender, I've doubled the shakes so it's only twice a day.
