About to start

Hi All. Have done W8 for the last 8 weeks or so and got really fed up with it. I know that a lot of people manage to stick to it but after a few weeks I was really struggling. Have been looking on here for a while and think Atkins may be the one for me. Have ordered book from Amazon and have ordered a selection of Atkins bars etc (in case of desperation!), but just really longing to eat proper food again. Eggs, chicken, lamb etc. Will join in the Friday weigh-in, perhaps not this week as I've sort of carbed out the last couple of days - not feeling good on it though - what does that tell me? Will keep you posted.:p

Welcome Emma :)

Welcome Emmasmum, have you read the stickies, that will help you get started.

Thanks TT & Jim. Yes, Jim have been reading ALL forums for the last 2 days! Think I was trying to give myself a wee excuse to not start immediately. Hope this isn't a sign of things to come!! Anyway, got up this morning and am ready to start today. Will have omelette (sp?) with mushrooms, onion and cheese for breakfast. Looking forward to trying your curry recipe Jim. Imagine after the last tortuous 9 weeks eating curry! Can't wait.

Go easy on the onion, not really induction friendly!

only used 1 oz. Will maybe stay away from it for the next couple of weeks and use peppers instead. See - even if I think I have read lots I really need that book! Thanks Jim

No worries love, that Curry is to die for, but best left until later in OWL or pre maint.

Welcome Emmasmum! Good luck with Atkins.

Thanks Sarah, I take my hat off to you for manageing to stick to a vlcd. I felt great for the first 4 weeks of doing W8, Week 4 add a meal, but couldn't manage to get back to doing shakes etc only. Things went a bit downhill after that - although I didn't ever gain anything (until this week when I decided to give up!) I've been shopping today and it was just fab being able to pick up lots of chicken, lamb, salmon etc. We (me and emma - who is nearly 7) went to the cafe after. She had macaroni cheese with garlic bread and a donut! I normally would have a black coffee, but today I also had a wee pot of tuna mayo. It really felt great to have something for a change!
You are doing so well - you must have fantastic motivation losing so much!

I didn't last the day on CD, the shakes made me puke. :(

Hey welcome!!

Debs x
