Hiyas, I asked my CDC what made the mix-a-mousse so special, she said nothing all it is is powdered gelatine.......so I went to the supermarket and bought some of their own brand. Cost £1.59 for a pack of 6 x 60g sachets. Going to use some tomorrow night! xx

I've never made it before hugy hun, but apparently you make the shake hot, add a spoonful of the gelatine and leave it to set. Some peeps have said about using half of one flavour and half of another and 'layering' them in a nice glass, sounds nice! xx

I don't make it hot. It says that you should have the water very cold-you then add a scoopful of the mix a mousse to the water along with a shake and blend it. Then you put it in a dish and leave it in the fridge (or at room temperature) for about 10 minutes while it sets. Don't use too much water or you will end up with the chocolate slop I ended up with the other week! About 150ml of water makes a decent mousse.

Thanks Angie for that, I was hoping someone would see and advise xx

like I said in the 1st post curlywurly (mmmmmmmmmm) it isnt any different to the powdered gelatin you get in the supermarket and that was according to my CDC! xx

thanks suzie, I might pop to the supermarket tomorrow and try and get some.. x:)

The gelatine is not as fine as the mix a mousse powder, so give it a blitz, ice cold water, add mix, blitz away until it thickens, five mins in the freezer and you have a bowl of mousse, my cdc makes sure she always has the butterscotch in for me, its like angel delight, eat with a teaspoon to make it last longer.. the mousse is my nightly treat and it has got me through when the going gets tough x

cheers Sarah love xx

where would you find powdered gelatine in the supermarket? I am clueless!!

I found it near the tinned fruit and baking section....... xx

thank you love!

Right just made up a strawberry one, smelt lovely. In the fridge, fingers crossed <waits impatiently> xx

well put it in the fridge an hour ago, and still hasn't bloomin well set. I'll have to have a hot chocolate instead. Shame cos I was looking forward to trying that. If it still hasn't set by the morning then IGNORE ME FOLKS, AND STICK TO PROPER MIX-A-MOUSSE lololol xx
