Hello everyone

Hi everyone

I thought I would pop in and say hello as today I start my low carb diet.

I did a low carb diet a year or so ago which I had some success with until I went on holiday!

I have been seriously considering WLS and have been a regular visitor to the WLS forum.

However I feel I owe it to myself to give it one more shot at gaining control of my food addiction.

I hope I will find lots of hints, tips and support here and I am off for a good look around!

Hi Lisa, welcome love. Please feel free to post away, you'll get loads of answers.

Wow those are very impressive photos Jim! How long did it take you to lose the weight?

It took me about 3 -31/2 years to lose the Majority LBD, then I went into Atkins pre maint for a year or 18 months, then once I reached the weight I wanted I went into Maint and have been there since late 2006 I think.

Thank you, there are many more photo's under the success stories forum, titled "It can Be Done etc..."

Good luck with restarting low carb, but remember other things have to be taken into consideration if you are doing low carb as opposed to the Atkins. You need to watch your calorie intake. Calories are vital. If your intention is to stay in ketosis, you will be less hungry so can control your calorie intake. Watch the fats too and get fats from good sources such as oily fish. Get your carbs from microwaved or steamed vegetables. Low carbing is simply the easiest way to diet in my opinion so good luck.
