Hair loss

hi guys just wondered if any of you that have been doing this and gone through the otherside (past RTM even), have had significant hair loss? Keep seeing horror stories when looking at LL online. Also people mentioning that their metabolism has been completely mucked up and that those that stuck to a low calorie diet still put on weight afterwards etc etc. Any truth in either of these statements?

Hi Helen,

We were talking about hair loss in group last week. All that happens is when the old hair is ready to fall out, it normally gets pushed out by the new one growing underneath. But because all of your energy is being used to keep the vital organs going this dioesn't happen. So when you start eating properly (rtm) as all the new hair starts to grow it pushes the old hair out. So it looks like your hair is falling out in it's masses when in theory it's onlt the natural hairloss that hasn't happened over the past however many weeks you've been in ketosis.

I hope that made sense and didn't bore you to death x

hi Becks, no that didn't bore me at all! Was very useful info. Thanks so much. Its hard when you keep hearing such negative stuff everywhere. You have done so well on your LL journey, I only hope I can do as well. xx

I was the same before I decided to do LL. When my sister started it in Aug last year me and my mum were so against it as we were doing it the 'right way' (SW) and all we heard wa the bad and none of the good. Come October she was in a 12-14 so I decided to look into it and the more i read the more I wanted to do it. Come Nov I had my info meeting but couldn't start until the new year :( So we were so hell bent on seeing all the bad, it's only when you do proper research you find out how a great and life changing this diet really is.

I'm sure you're weight will come off you just as fast. To be honest I have had quite a few slow weeks and would have hoped to have lost more but it is what it is. Just keep going x x

Not from where I sit - 4 months post-RTM. I had a bit of hair loss. Certainly, being 10 stone lighter is far more significant the a bit of h air that grows bac, so it was of no worry to me. It was a small amount. Even a large amount would have been worth it! It grows back! ;) :)

I have been eating now for 4 months. For the past 2 months I have been weighing myself every single monday morning, and this is the 8th week, that I am spot on, the exact same weigh, each week. And I have been eating plenty.

Don't worry too much about horror stories - things often get blown out of proportion. :)

Hope that helps. :)
xx
