Dry hands

hi everyone

is/has anyone else suffered from really dry hands?

i keep putting on hand cream, but it just doesnt make any impact, went to bed caked in it with mittons on, they are a little better, but still rough.

its making the skin on my fingers really weak, and i have big gouges out of them, getting quite sore. any suggestions on how i can get rid of it?

Thanks
Tracy

I have the EXACT same problem. I use loads of E45 cream with mittens to wear to bed, also, i make sure i wear rubber gloves when washing up as i find that makes them dry AND itchy otherwise! I'm not sure why, i forgot to ask my CDC last night...anyway, hope this helps:)

My skin has been really dry all over, but my hands are worse!! xx
I thought it was just me because of all the cleaning I had done before moving out of the house!!! They are really dry and cracked and no amount of hand cream makes any difference....grrr!!!

I also thought it was all the cleaning i have been doing, but i always do the same amount and they have only been like this for a few weeks since i started cd!
They are really sore and i have bought loads of different hand creams and none of them are really working, the best one is neutrogina is does keep them moisturised for a few hours..lol. x

My skin is the same all over, but bizarrely enough it's my upper eye lids that are suffering the most, they're all scaley and consequently very sore and red because all the skin is flaking off...

When I put body cream on at night it soaks in almost instantly and I end up putting two or three lots on, so what I'm saving in food I'm probably spending on body lotion! :p

Me too, and my lips are dry. I expect it's because we aren't having any oils?

I put mine down to washing my hands so often after constant trips to the loo!

My excema is much worse, and its ok saying the diet includes everything you need, but I do worry about the essential oils we dont get.

I get this too and I'm also having the red bits of skin around my nails and at the bottom/the cuticle area.

I've got soap & glory's hand food which does the trick perfect usually but since I've been doing the CD again they have got drier. At work me and a Friend share the hand food and I'm always using it now.

My eyelids were like that in the first few weeks of CD. I used a tiny bit of eumovate on them for a few days and they cleared up quickly.
I also have dry hands, so have bough Flexitol Hand Balm for very dry skin. It works pretty well.

Mine are really dry too! I've been using E45 as hand lotion and am going to start bathing in baby oil again as my skin was lovely when I did that before.

I have very dry hands too..the skin is cracking and getting sore-I'm trying to remember to moisturise evey time I wash my hands-strangely enough my right hand is worse than my left.

Funny I haven't experienced any dryness (hands or otherwise) but maybe that's because I use the BEST products I've ever come across, LUSH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! They have an amazing array of moisturisers, lotions in shower body butters as well as hand creams. I use their "handy gurugu" handcream and "lemony flutter" cuticle balm every night and my hands are in the best condition they've ever been in! Try their products, you'll love them!

Lol, you should defo be on commission!! :p x

I have dry hands too. My cuticles in particular are really rough. Going to try some E45 cream and see if that helps. I've also got some dead sea salt scrub that my mum got me for Christmas-it does help keep them soft for a while but it doesn't last. It would help though if I didn't have to keep washing my hands on my many trips to the loo!

at the moment my hands are dreadful, i'm liking the double base cream i have got from my gp. it does help.

Double base is my saviour at the moment!

Stings like crap if I put it on my eye lids though!

Was sure the dry skin on my hands was from constantly washing them, but i'm forever moisturising. Feel relieved to know there are others out there with the same condition!
