Husbands - they're just fab!

Castaway
Posted this on my diary but thought I'd share it here too. Being tropical here, we have our fair share of insects.

We're lucky so far not to have much of a problem inside the house. A few geckos but so far no roaches. I went to brush my teeth before bed last night and sitting on the towels bold as brass was the largest cockroach I've EVER seen

Did I attack it? Did I heck! Naturally I exited the bathroom with a fair turn of speed and sent hubby in on a seek and destroy mission. (after all, that is one of the perks of marriage!:D). I shrieked like a little girl and told hubby that the cockroach was ginormous. He looked at me with that look where you know they think you're being a baby and exaggerating and they think it's quite sweet cos they get to be manly and "rescue" you.

Well, you should have seen the look on his face when he saw the thing and realised I wasn't exaggerating!! He came back out for a choice of weapons and closed the door as he went back in... oh the drama.. after several suspense filled minutes and interesting noises he re-emerges victorious. He did admit it was the biggest roach he'd seen too and he's travelled extensively in Africa and Asia. I'm hoping it was a solitary explorer who came in through the window rather than an infestation.

Anyway, don't you just love men? He was so deadly serious when he gathered his choice of weapons. :)

LOL, just let the Gecko's and chit chats eat them IB.

lol !! bless his little cotton socks coming to his damsels rescue xx

Jim, what's a chit chat?
There's no way the geckos could have eaten this one - it was bigger than they are! Geckos here only seem to grow to about 3 inches.

oh i would have died, i would loved to have seen his face lol, when we were in queensland i saw this thing that looked like a beetle, about 3 inches high an about 4 inches long, looked like a scarab ? i freaked it was in a cupboard in a apartment we rented, we only found one, and we given some spray stuff, the guy there was very casual and im on a chair acting like its the black death, i loved australia but all the rest of the time there i was terrified of seeing one again,

It's a slang term for a type of Geko in Hong Kong, they were great, used to eat all the cockroaches and flies etc.

Ugh!!! Shuddering just thinking about it!

Scarab Beetles are lovely, and harmless.

:D :D. I had a pet scarab beetle when I was a Kid in Egypt IB.

Yes IB, 4th generation Soldier here. :)

Heehee having grown up in South Africa, I have to agree with Jim. I had a gecko living in my curtains, his name was Russell. He had his uses got rid of all the bugs. Problems started though when I got a cat, am afraid to say Russell didn't last too long after that.:(

LOL, poor Russell Tange.

Brilliantly cheerful story :)
