When to start maintenance?

Hi

Firstly congratulations on your weight loss so far:)

Once your BMI reaches 25 you will have to start the stabilisation plans, you will move up to the 810 plan which is 3 meal replacements plus a small protein and veg meal and 12floz skimmed milk, this plan should be followed for at least 2 weeks before moving up to the next stage which is the 1000 plan.

Your CDC will be able to talk you through each stage of stabilisation and give you advise, and if you have the yellow weight care with cambridge booklet, this also explains all the plans.

I was told this week that i had to move from SS to 810 as my BMI was less than 25 plus 1 stone! I asked if i could do SS plus for a transition period but was told I had to go straight to 810 as my weight was now too low but i could 810 right to goal - i still have a way to go!!

I've been doing 810 for about 8 weeks now, started when my bmi was just under 26. I started not to go up the steps exactly, but as I was working away a lot in Feb and needed something a bit more flexible. In March I had planned to step down again to ss but opted to stay at 810 as weight was still dropping, although more slowly. And for me, the challenge has been to cope with food being back in the picture.

I now have 9lbs to go & have bmi just under 25. I have lost the plot a bit with 810 lately and know the carbs & cals have been sneaking in, but am trying now to be strict and 810 100% to shift these last lbs so I can start working up the steps. I think you can stay on each step up for as long as you need to within reason.

I have been reading the CD maintenance threads too, to see how successful CDers have done it... lots of advice & experience there!

Hey guys

I'm hoping someone out there can offer me some advice? I've been doing SS for a while now and have lost 2 stone in total, my BMI is just over 25. I want to loose another stone...

You can go onto 810 and stay on that until goal, as long as you don't go under BMI 20!

Most people like to start moving up a little before goal, but I would suggest you stay on 810 for a little longer as you are unlikely to lose a stone easily while going up the plans.

The SS plus 1 stone rule is for those people who want to start on SS, not for those already doing it :)
