rice pudding

rice pud with yogurt free on green or EE

cook pudding rice in 3 times its quantity of water (ie 1/2 cup rice + 1 1/2 cups water) gently in a saucepan for about 15 mins stirring often and topping up with water if required. You want the water to have been absorbed and the rice to be very soft.

transfer into a bowl/container

add a muller yogurt and fresh fruit, stir. eat straight away or chilled.

I am particularly fond of it made with toffee muller and chopped banana ....

oops ... I have just REREAD your post:

'real' rice pud

serves 2 - 1 HA each on green or EE

2oz pudding rice
4tbsp sweetner and
500ml SS milk in a large bowl, stir

cook at 150 deg for 2 hours stirring after the first 30 mins

Would Vanilla Extract be a syn.

Also somewhere I saw a pudding recipe that was made with water first and then strained and milk was added later and put back in the oven. I think the idea being that you use less milk.

No, vanilla extract is syn free.

Don't know about that other recipe I'm afraid - I just use my HExA for milk or have the one with yogurt!

I made my pudding, I used 50g pudding rice, added about a pint of water and cooked it in the oven for 30 mins, I then drained it and added 250ml semi (hexa) and some cinnamon, nutmeg, vanilla extract and 1tbsp sugar (3 syns) Lovely, finished the lot.

Mind you thats a fair bit of rice for me tonight, as I had egg curry, chips and rice for dinner.
