Booked appointment for Breast Reduction!!!!

Well I finally took the plunge and booked an appointment for a breast reduction consult!!! I feel liberated already and really happy with the idea now! Can't wait in fact.

Much to my surprise I have also just found out that I have a good chance of getting it covered on my health insurance as it is deemed for medical rather than cosmetic reasons!

Bit worried about the recovery time and lifting the baby but will just have to work around it. Also BMI HAS to be below 27 which is fine....nearly there already.

Anyone experience of this???? Would love to hear how others got on!

I'd love to have mine lifted and put back where they're supposed to be. I wouldn't want them reduced though, I think I'd miss 'em.

Sara can I have what your getting rid of? My boobs have already shrunk on this diet and i've only lost 11lbs.

Good luck for the op hun and the recovery process. Sorry I cant help you, never having been there, but if its affecting you, any symptoms afterwards I am sure you will take in your stride because of the benefits. Well done.

LOL! Well I think they do a lift as part of the reduction so yay! But will know better after the consult.

LOL! I have lost 3 stone in total and not a milimetre off the boobs!!! If only we could share 'em!

Thanks kered. Yep! I have always hated them! Was always into sport and they were the bane of my life!

Now bad backache and heat rashes. I can't get clothes to fit. I am a 14 on the bottom and an 18 to 20 on the top!!! So self conscious that I will only wear tops that are a mile too big and hide a multitude. Whenever on hols I wear a t-shirt over my swimsuit in the pool!!!! Time to change it all! The more I think of it all the more excited I am about it. But the op if it happens won't be till end of May or June.

Hi Sara4,
I really envy you. I would love to have a breast reduction. On LT, I went from a 40J to a 34DD but that is still massive. I have always hated having big boobs and still wear big tops to try to hide them as much as possible. Where are you going to get them done?

The consultant works in 3 hospitals in Dublin so not sure which one yet. I will only be going to this consultant if my insurance covers it. If not will have to find cheaper option!

Looking forward to hearing about this. At my lightest many moons ago at 9 stone I was a 32dd. I looked as though I was about to topple over - lol.
