hiya all
my 5 year old daughter is making me a mothers day cupcake at school
i really dont want to let her down
what shall i do
how much damage can it do
or shall i just freeze it
help!!
How sweet are kids (and cupcakes) i would tell her how amazing she was and tell her you will share it with her break it up into pieces and just pretend to eat it before you know it she will have scoffed the lot if she's anything like my little boy - no harm done
i came across the same problem today. My 7 yr old son performed a mother's day assembly and they presented us with a daffodil and a fairy cake at the end.
I just explained to him that mommy doesn't eat cakes anymore and asked if he'd like to eat it instead. To which he was delighted!! haha
You could say it's gorgeous and a real treat and you will save it for last thing to have with a cuppa before bed... as the perfect end to Mothers Day. Then tell her next morning how yummy it was. Little white lie?

It is so hard to say no, but I think you have had good advice in sharing it or saving it. I am hoping I do not get chocolate for mother's day, but if I do I will share and hope they will all go with not one passing my lips!!!!!!
hiya all
thought id update
she bought it home and said
"mummy cant you freeze your cake and have it when your diets finished"
so in the freezer it went to be saved for a treat one day lol
xx
my daughter is 5 and she does things like that, wants to share her bag of sweets with me and wants to make mummys day cakes lol. but she doesnt keep a close eye on me and i pretend to eat the sweets and cake lol but i dont really no harm done and shes happy girl
Its a hard day for mums this weekend. Good luck to mums everywhere who are trying to keep on track.
I work with students and they made cupcakes for their mums this week and there were loads left over but I didnt take one I would have regretted it. Freeze it and tell your daughter you will eat it when you have lost a little weight.
