SW Spicy Beanburgers

Minders

Finding inspiration
Decided to try a new recipe from an old magazine. There was a section called "Burger Bar" and listed several SW versions of the most popular burgers we order at restaurants. I decided to make the Spicy Beanburgers. They smell awesome. However... they are dry and mushy and fall apart. I had to have a tin of beans with them just to have some lubrication to be able to swallow them. Of course I didn't realise til after that I had beans in the burger and beans on the side... I can guess what's coming later! Let's just hope it all passes before I have to get on the plane to Ireland tomorrow! LOL!!!!

Anyway, just thought I'd post this about the beanburgers in case anyone has tried this recipe and found a way to make it work better or something. Or to just give a head's up to anyone who may be tempted to try this that the recipe needs some work as it doesn't really work as it stands. Tastes OK, but isn't very fun to eat.

i made similar thing in the week and was a night mare!! was just tooo mushy!!

I haven't used this recipe but do make veggie burgers quite often. It sounds like you needed more liquid in the burger. Did they have egg in them or anything like that to bind ? Another tip is to chill the burgers once you have made them so they firm up before cooking. Failing that there are some fab meat free burgers on the market lol
